I think they've been posturing to be harder on the democrats lately. Blitzer's dealing with Pelosi the other night (the one where he decided to actually be a journalist for once), the pressure on Biden re: court packing, the praise for ACB, and a (slightly) more gentle tone on Trump have all been happening at the same time.

I think there's something big on the wire that they know they have to get ahead of.
