This is why it's less about melanin and more about "homogenous". But as we've moved through time and developed tribes and then cultures, the melanin and haplo groups became ... correlated with the cultures.

American Culture is based upon a creed, diminishing the role of culture and/or race. This is a good thing. This is... the best thing.

But we aren't teaching that, anymore. Unless and until we return to that, we're going to have issues, and more tribalism, and more break-down, and more violence.
