They're definitely traffic shaping. They have some threshold. You see this on youtube. The magic 100K threshold.

You see loads of videos rapidly rise but then after 100K they almost flatline growing only very slowly.

Most likely Google, Twitter, Facebook, Reddit and others are all at least shadow banning anything with the domain in it. This can be surprisingly subtle. Sometimes they just remove it's prominence as well so for example it might not appears in friends feeds.

Yep!!!!!!!! We CANT TEXT ANY .WIN LINKS EITHER!!!!!!

muslimporn 3 points ago +3 / -0

You know they can herd online but not offline.

It's time to assemble in meatspace. To congregate.

Whatever venue we can. Lets make protocols, places, people.

The church or the mall, whatever there is.

While they think they know it all with all eyes on them in their ivory towers we must move beneath the waves.

That, or we have simply reached server capacity.

13
NancyFacedAOCSoldier 13 points ago +13 / -0

Capacity wold be an actual flat line.

2
MehNahMehNah 2 points ago +2 / -0

...and DDOS attacks

-1
Chick-fill-eh -1 points ago +3 / -4

Most of the time we are not all on simultaneously. When news breaks, we are, and issues result.

9
NancyFacedAOCSoldier 9 points ago +9 / -0

If issues result only at peak times, then we arent running at capacity outside of those times. This backs up my statement.

0
Chick-fill-eh 0 points ago +5 / -5

Looks kinda like we're bouncing off of max capacity to me.

5
NancyFacedAOCSoldier 5 points ago +5 / -0

bouncing off max capacity at peak times means we are not at capacity most of the time. So if we are mostly not at capacity, the graph shape can not be the result of growth being limited by capacity.

I noticed this too. Definite fuckery going on.

reddit banned people from linking here at that time.

I'm sure they are not the only ones. can you link to here from facebook, twitter etc.?

Reddit banned links long before the growth stopped.

leonfire99 5 points ago +5 / -0

I believe someone posted how facebook blocks links here even in messenger lines up with the flatline. I believe tmobile qlso preventing those links might line up there too.

5
BlackLivesMurder 5 points ago +5 / -0

I have had t-mobile for years and not a single theDonald.win texts have been blocked. I am not a t-mobile bootlicker in any way I am just saying in sick of hearing this bullshit. I have went out of my way to test if they are blocking it and they are not.

2
leonfire99 2 points ago +2 / -0

I sent links to a friend via text (he uses mint but they use tmobile's network) and he didnt recieve them and i have the screenshots from the two of us to prove it. So i believe it for tmobile users as well.

2
BlackLivesMurder 2 points ago +2 / -0

I have screen shots to prove that I can and do send links of the Donald using t-mobile. I'm not understanding are you calling me a liar for fucks sake lol.

2
leonfire99 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'll change my premise then in light of your evidence. It happens for people on the tmobile networks, but maybe not everyone.. You are saying it happens for no one. In logic the way to prove a "for all" (or in this case "for no one") statement false is to provide one counterexample which i hope the link at the end does. Also, receiving links from TD is what i am claiming is blocked. you're mentioning sending links.

BlackLivesMurder 2 points ago +2 / -0

I am at least saying not everyone is blocked from sending and or receiving texts with the Donald urls.

Share links to here instead of sharing links to the story/pic/twitter post. But honestly this might be where we will live in terms of users until we branch out with more .wins on more topics.

I was watching it everyday because of how excited I was! I am sure the commies at Amazon were too and after it jumped to 5,000ish they said enough.

We need our own web ranking system.

1
stormdraintrooper 1 point ago +1 / -0

I indeed noticed it early on as well, but really thought not much of it as it was not anywhere close to the flatline it is now. That's rather scary.

That's what I think too. We're getting tons of new pedes all the time. Alexa just refuses to show it.

11
DisgustedByMisleadia 11 points ago +11 / -0

It should be noted that Alexa ranking is based on people that willingly install the Alexa browser extension. So, if you hit a ceiling among that population, it won't increase further.

https://www.alexa.com/about

Alexa's traffic estimates are based on data from our global traffic panel, which is a sample of millions of Internet users using one of many different browser extensions. In addition, we gather much of our traffic data from direct sources in the form of sites that have chosen to install the Alexa script on their site and certify their metrics. However, site owners can always choose to keep their certified metrics private.

If the mods choose to sign up for "certified Alexa ranking", they have to put a snippet of code on every page to collect the information when it's loaded. But, that information isn't public unless they choose to publish it.

More info here:

IlIlIlIlIl 5 points ago +5 / -0

This should be at the top along with the comment about other sites banning links to TDW.

ITT: a bunch of people who don’t know how the internet works and think alexa rankings are the source of truth.

3
DisgustedByMisleadia 3 points ago +3 / -0

I thought about suggesting that every td.win user go install the Alexa browser extension to boost td.win's ranking.

But, I didn't think that would be very popular. :-)

IlIlIlIlIl 3 points ago +3 / -0

Lmao

AedraLord 1 point ago +1 / -0

Is there a tracking system that doesn't require people to download an extension? Surely there must be one out there that tracks all visits regardless of an extension download.

2
DisgustedByMisleadia 2 points ago +2 / -0

No, there is nothing that tracks all webserver visits. And due to the nature of the data, even if you have the data, you can't determine what is going on unless you are on the client (your phone/computer) or the web server. More detail.

Web browsing is client to server. Normally, they are the only ones that know about an interaction between the two. A request from one to the other could take many different paths through the Internet, and there's no one place to monitor them all.

On top of that, nearly every website (including this one) encrypts the connection. The only information available is that the two IP addresses exchanged encrypted data. You could infer that it is probably web traffic because it's port 443 (on the server side), but there are many alternative uses of port 443 expressly because it's passed through most proxy servers.

Spread this website far and wide. Can't rely on the search engines anymore.

4
SmastaFlex 4 points ago +4 / -0

You might be able to get more info is someone has a membership. It looks like you can get info like sites linking, etc... that way you can see what changed at that time period.

3
jgardner 3 points ago +3 / -0

Methinks that we have discovered the system limits for thedonald.win. If we're going to improve, it's going to be with more server capacity.

I believe what we call DDOS attacks are really just the popularity of this site getting the better of us.

2
JarretGax 2 points ago +2 / -0

TD hug of death.

3
DwellerMike 3 points ago +3 / -0

Alexa = Amazon. Amazon and Google are in Cahoots.

I called this 3 or 4 weeks ago, perhaps a little bit longer (see my history)

I wouldn't be surprised if we disappear from their ranking overall just to spite us.

2
BlackLivesMurder 2 points ago +2 / -0

We already know they are at least blocking the Donald from Facebook.

2
CmonPeopleGetReal 2 points ago +2 / -0

You cant text message anyone a thedonald.win link in SMS on serveral cell carriers

Yup...I noticed this on Alexa too...I think Amazon is artificially suppressing the real numbers.

1
Libertas_Vel_Mors 1 point ago +1 / -0

Not to be too much of a downer, but maybe the TD_WIN account/contract/colo-arrangement/whatever has a max limit for bandwidth, which in turn limits impressions?

Mods can tell us for certain, but normally when you have a hosting provider, you get a certain amount of max bandwidth, which can explain why it flatlines (because the wires are running at max for their subscription/contract, so you don't get any more of that tasty traffic until you buy or rent a bigger pipe to handle it...)

1
Libertas_Vel_Mors 1 point ago +1 / -0

...and before anyone says it, you do get surge/burst allowances, but it's usually not priority/prioritized like your allotted b/w is. This explains why the flatline is variable and not a hard, flat line.

Fabius 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's afraid.

Word of mouth is the way now.

1
Aaaahhhh 1 point ago +1 / -0

Open secret. Everyone knows they're censoring, no one is doing anything about it

1
Boomhauer3 1 point ago +1 / -0

It is absolutely throttled. Its the only site I visit that half loads everytime.

1
CMUBigGuy 1 point ago +1 / -0

Would be great for the mods to post a chart of daily unique visitors that they're tracking along with this chart to see if visitors have indeed flattened since 8/31.

1
Flipbarryfromreddit 1 point ago +1 / -0

You can still text the links on Snapchat btw pedes! It’s banned on texting tho!!!!!

1
Block_Helen 1 point ago +1 / -0

This sucks but remember people are still finding the site.
