Yes, all fine and good, but we're yet again giving black people a leg up. How about a plan for poor whites?

Screw whoever downvoted you. We need to stop categorizing ourselves. We're Americans, all of us. Not women Americans or black Americans, or latinx Americans. Just Americans.

Creating more bullshit affirmative action laws isn't the way.

Amen. And I'll take the downvotes, just shows that even here we have people who need to wake up.

Amen. All boats rise in a high tide. This is why we need 4 more years of a Trump economy.

I hope you know that the civil rights act and the 1965 immigration act was passed under deceit.if people back then knew the outcome, they would have loudly protested against it.

Why hasn’t he done for blacks? What about poor whites in Appalachia and Midwest;is there any plan for them? Trump has a major base and he has to stick to them.a lot of white people and white communities also have needs that need federal intervention. He has already given them opportunity zones, record funding for their universities, criminal justice reform reform(which might help everyone at the end or turn to a disaster), etc. I am not saying that Trump is a race traitor or bad for white people but his administration and campaign team hardly mentions them even when pushed to say it. Trump hasn’t focused on whites as much as blacks and the white voter turn out is always key for republicans.

Is there some way we can be sure this won't just result in massive embezzlement opportunities and a source of money to fuel the corruption and favor trading of our political enemies? $500b is a lot of money to dump if you're not careful.

Gotta look at it pragmatically. Whites aren't causing half of all violent crime while being only 13% of the population. We can play the blame game as to why that is (cough: it's the democrats), but at the end of the day something needs to be done to fix that particular demographic of our country.

This initiative also doesn't preclude plans for helping poor white Americans.

Also helping poor white Americans looks a lot more like trade and foreign labor reform, most whites don't want government handouts, they just want good jobs.
