I was at a rest stop in Florida the other day and a guy got out of his truck, isolated from everyone, put on a mask, then walked to a garbage can to throw stuff away, again completely isolated from anyone, then went into his truck and took off his mask.

I live in Florida and never wear a mask outside, only if I have to inside

I have never worn a mask at all inside or out You know those “mask required” signs can’t hurt you right? Lol

They can't hurt you but if the establishment requires it and you need to utilize their services, well...

I've worn it exactly 3 times out of necessity.

  1. Had to send something out international USPS and they were like no mask, no service, bub. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  2. Needed a haircut. This one broken-down single-mom Karen type hair dresser in there just couldn't wait to tell me I had to put a mask on since I came in and was sitting in the waiting area without one. Not putting it on till necessary.

Got up and was led to the chair by the other friendly dresser and while I had pulled my mask out and was holding it, I also forgot my drink over by my seat. Walked back to get it and then walked back to the chair.

"You have to put your mask on!" she karened forcefully and rather perturbed.

Hands were full at the moment she said it -- I just stepped back into the area with my drink and had my keys and phone in hand as well -- so she got an ear full and then I took my sweet fucking time situating my belongings on the shelf JUUUUST right before I cleared my throat, took a long long swig, smacked my lips with a satisfactory sigh at the refreshment my beverage provided, and smiled in her direction as I slowly slipped my mask on.

Winter's coming so it's the season of woolies and beanies such that I don't give a shit about haircuts for a while.

  1. Was meeting some friends that drove for an hour or so and we needed to wear a mask INTO the diner on the 10 foot walk to the table before we removed them. Found a place nearby for post breakfast cortados that had a no-mask policy so that was nice :).
