Fact checks are only for anything that doesn't agree with their narrative. For 3 years the MSM pushed the most unhinged fake conspiracy theories around.. don't recall a single one of them being fact checked.
They're probably arguing that if the story turns out to be false and they haven't censored it, the damage will already have been done, but that goes both ways. It's not their business to determine this in the first place.
