With a lot of cancers, you can linger on for ages and they can do surgery, chemo, etc. A lot of cancers are beatable or at least fightable. You can live long enough with many types of cancers that you die from getting hit by a bus or the flu or whatever else.
With most of the brain cancers, chemo doesn't work at all and surgery usually isn't an option. You just have a seizure one day out of the blue and everyone is like "are you ok dude" and then the doctor walks in and says "time to wrap shit up, you've got a couple months to live." And that's it.
