Yup, there has definitely been talk of a 3 to 5 day internet blackout, during the time of some extremely high profile people getting arrested in D.C. and elsewhere. It is one of the reasons having 3 days of food and water etc stored has been pushed so hard.
If things are hairy enough to shut down the Internet, we could have other chaos going on, too, such as loss of electricity. And more riots. More fires.
All that could, this time, lead to martial law/Insurrection Act.
Might make it kinda hard to get to the store, if they could even open.
If no internet is because the power is off, it brings up a few considerations. Electricity out, fridge issues, other utility issues. I am on a well, if no elect, no pump, so no water. No heat? Stuff like that. Maybe markets would close if they had no power? I can imagine a store trying to operate on a cash basis, no one has much cash, ATMs aren't working, and stores with a lot of cash would probably get robbed anyway. it would be a good idea to at least have a few jugs of water and canned food, and pet food, to last a bit. And fill up your gas tank.
