Father of 5 here. I had a 90-minute video call with my youngest son last nigth. He lives in a college town halfway across the country. (Colombia MO) He married a Mizzou SJW so I avoid discussing politics in her presence. I love her despite our political differences. They're sitting side by side throughout the call. Early in the call he asks, "So are you voting for Trump?" A 3 second pause on my end as I'm formulating a tactfully response.
Before I can respond, smiles and shouts out, "Well I am! There's no way I can vote for that goddamn idiot Biden." His wife is smiling too but doesn't comment and I acknowledged that of course I was voting for Trump and voting a straight Republican ticket as I have for the past several years.
I took the conversation back to non-political topics while a warmth came over me as if I was being hugged by a giant Pepe.
Currently 4 out of 5 kids and their significant others are on the Trump train. My son who lives in Denver may be a lost cause though.
