They have to be out of their minds. Censoring house.gov/anything is asking for an investigation at this stage on the game.

Theyre going down in flames and helping us highlight tech censorship. And its not even working!!

fasterth 32 points ago +32 / -0

They have nothing left to lose, they have realized that no matter what they do they will lose everything if they don't win this election.

Their last ditch hope is that all this heavy-handed and open censorship will manage to somehow get Biden elected, and then none of this will matter and it will all go away.

"UGHHH I shouldn't even have an ashtray but Trump made them ban my favorite Vape!!!!!"

Those FDA regulations are absolute bullshit though, and they've massive fucked the pipe tobacco industry and cigars as well. Mostly wiping out small American businesses. It was nothing other than a massive handout to Big Tobacco.

Replace "some half bald/half blue haired girl with stars tattooed around her eye" with some Indian guy here on an H1B visa living in an apartment with 8 other Indian guys also here on H1B visas.

Some Indian guy here on an H1B visa who is half bald/half blue haired with stars tattooed around his eyes while claiming to be a girl.

They're doing it on purpose because they want to return the internet back into the hands of publishers who decide everything.

We need to crack down on them still but also oppose this from happening viciously as well. The outcome should be that companies that operate more in the neutral way Google, Reddit, Twitter, etc did during their main growth stage still have protection.

We need to remove their immunity specifically for the way they are behaving now but not if they operate traditionally.

Tulkas71 6 points ago +6 / -0

Well think about it, they've got away with everything up until now. why stop?

Unchecked hubris is a dangerous thing

Twitter has silenced the core government of the US?

Just prior to an election??

Are they declaring war?!?!?

23
DrDT 23 points ago +23 / -0

Declared. Past tense. It just took us until now to believe it is real.

1
septictanksniper 1 point ago +1 / -0

So what are we supposed to do?

1
DrDT 1 point ago +1 / -0

Hold the line in the general election, and make the changes in the primary. Vote red in November, then replace the squishy RINOs with true constitutionalists when your primaries come around.

31
4cdarth 31 points ago +31 / -0

Twitter done fucked up now.

18
chuckachookah 18 points ago +18 / -0

But, really, are they?

What’s happened to them? Nothing.

Well there is a pretty clear Public Square, free speech argument that can be made, the more compelling argument is one of the anti-trust.

And who decides to pursue anti-trust?

7
Tulkas71 7 points ago +7 / -0

Unchecked hubris is a dangerous thing.

3
FragrantDude 3 points ago +3 / -0

And who decides to pursue anti-trust?

The people on the committees who, as of yesterday, have sent inquiry letters to both Facebook and Twitter. Time will tell if it's real or just election year blustering.

6
AnointedVisions 6 points ago +6 / -0

OH SHIT THEY SENT SOME LETTERS

OH SHIT

LETTERS WERE SENT

1
FragrantDude 1 point ago +2 / -1

Normally, I'd be on the sarcastic train right with you, but these aren't those typical "you did something wrong and we're mad" impotent letters. These are letters that initiate discovery leading into some sort of hearing. They're a bit different than the do-nothing letters we're used to, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

2
AnointedVisions 2 points ago +2 / -0

OH SHIT THESE LETTERS ARE A BIT DIFFERENT

OH FUCK

2
covert_genitalia 2 points ago +2 / -0

DoD pede here... we have a saying "moving at the speed of Government" to describe how long the bureaucracy takes to get anything done in government. While I share your skepticism that this will go anywhere, if it is going anywhere, it's moving at the speed of Government.

2
Magaimmigrant 2 points ago +2 / -0

Has any executive ever got in legal trouble after a senate hearing?

1
FragrantDude 1 point ago +1 / -0

At this point if I had to choose between them, I'd rather get relief in how the companies are run than see someone perp-walked. If they don't fix how the companies are run, the next person to come in will just do the same thing, and all we would have gotten is a temporary satisfaction watching one person go be prosecuted.

1
chuckachookah 1 point ago +1 / -0

Incorrect.

Antitrust is pursued by the Department of Justice.

Now, I'll ask again, how come nothing happens?

1
FragrantDude 1 point ago +1 / -0

You're right antitrust is litigated by DOJ, but I think antitrust is just one aspect that they're going after. I could be wrong, but that's my read of the situation and is why multiple groups are gearing into action. Here's hoping it's all not just election-time blustering that gets conveniently forgotten on Nov 4.

1
chuckachookah 1 point ago +1 / -0

My point was -- the DOJ is really the department of injustice.

The inactivity under Barr and his predecessors is handing over Orwellian type power to companies filled with completely imbalanced people, most of which don't believe in America and are happy to wipe their ass with the Constitution.

It's another failure of Barr. No other way to see it or say it.

1
FragrantDude 1 point ago +1 / -0

I've been blackpilled on Barr. I'll admit that I was one of the ones he tricked at the beginning because of the irreverance he showed the Dims (clearly a setup) and the big talk of how he was going to clean up. But after the number of "no wrongdoing found" investigation results that are coming out now, he's clearly a complete failure.

1
chuckachookah 1 point ago +1 / -0

If he was just a failure, then it might be explainable.

I don't think he's "failing" at all. At least not with what his primary objective is --to protect the DOJ by burying treason and felonies transacted on President Trump, Mike Flynn, and others.

Taking any action against the tech tyrants would just make his primary objective harder.

Bill Barr is a fucking useless tool.

Yep, I rarely talk to my lib wife about politics but I mentioned to her this morning that it was despicable that Facebook was blocking links to the NY Post, and she replied:

"Well, yeah, but I use Twitter, and they aren't blocking it."

30 minutes later, I sent her this image. I haven't heard back. Pray for me.

But you are right. Those who hate Trump are just going to continue to believe that FB and Twitter haven't done anything wrong. I can't imagine the cognitive dissonance these people have.

Lol. Someone at twatter probably should have thought this through a bit more.

5
the_bearded_red 5 points ago +5 / -0

This is easily solvable. If GEOTUS and all prominent right wing figures left the platform it would cause a stream of regular users to flee as well. Twitter would be done within a year.

5
Mintap 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yes, Biden's corruption could lead to real world harm. And Twitter trying to cover it uo too can lead to real world harm.

4
AdeptTrump 4 points ago +4 / -0

FB/Instagram, Twitter and YouTube need to be smacked into place.

3
Goozmania 3 points ago +3 / -0

We all get mad, republicans in government make more threatening tweets, and nothing happens...

We've seen this before... hundreds of times over the past 2 years.

3
Magaimmigrant 3 points ago +3 / -0

Remember Google's townhall right after he won in 2016 that Breitbart released the video of? The CEO and top execs lost their minds and didn't come to terms with the loss. They were angry. They can't afford to have that happen again. They are all in for 2020 for the dems. It's no longer covert...it's overt. It's no longer civil.

I keep saying this because I mean it. It's time for a physical fight.

2
AnointedVisions 2 points ago +2 / -0

This should be the LAST STRAW

The people need to physically occupy Twitter. The left does that shit to get what they want. They burned down cities for 1/3 of 2020.

America needs to show up at Twitter and demonstrate our displeasure.

2
Say-Ten 2 points ago +2 / -0

It was inevitable they would get over-confident in their position and do something stupid. These people should be ripped apart by the legal system.

Been saying this for a while. Its time to break up all big tech. They are monopolies. Time to end them.

2
that_sound 2 points ago +2 / -0

The more they censor, the more people will seek the truth elsewhere. So some will come here. Be ready.

I only found you people as a direct result of the censorship on some ancient website whose name I don't recall on the day of the Orlando Nightclub massacre.
