I keep seeing the memes but I still am not totally sure what the fuck that's supposed to mean. Is it just a day that he randomly takes off that he was supposed to do something on? Why the fuck that name? Is he "putting a lid on it"? It sounds really fucking stupid.

Put a lid on it means he is stopping everything for the day. So he would start at 8am and put a lid on it at 9 which just means everything else is cancelled.

Basically closing up for whatever reason for the day. Usually when they don't want to answer anything.

I always thought a lid was a seedy ounce of weed from the 70's.

People had weed trays where they would clean it up. You were so excited if only half was seeds and stems. And that slightly moldy smell from the brick of Columbian? That means it's aged and good!

Thanks for the responses. Good to know it's precisely as stupid as I thought it was.

In Biden's case a lid means there's so much damaging evidence coming out that the stress may cause his herpes to flair up so better to just stay in the basement

The ground hog sees his shadow and goes underground ....again.

Or Joe Biden says, nope, not gonna happen, no walking around, no campaign, just taped broadcasts from my basement, I'm resting...Usually between 8 and 10AM in the morning. Happened more often than not in the last 45 days.
