Yup. Rudy is a badass. Don’t let the fact that he’s an old man fool you. Rudy transformed NYC from an absolute shit hole to the average shit hole you see today. Look at Times Square in the 80s vs today..... totally different world.
People don’t realize what he did for NYC. I grew up north of NYC and as a kid we took the train down every weekend in 1991 because of a family member in the hospital. We didn’t ride the subways because they were full of piss, homeless people, and graffiti.
Rudy took over in 1994 and by 1996 (maybe sooner) he had completely cleaned up the city. We like to make fun of Mini Mike Bloomberg (and rightfully so) but he was smart enough to continue Rudy’s policies when he took over in 2001. The city didn’t go to shit again until DeBlasio took over in 2014.
