I've heard about right wing Twitter users migrating to Parler, but it has felt off to me from the very start. Is it really freedom of speech if the posts on the app are blocked from public view and free distribution? None of the posts can be searched through google or be archived and you have to provide personal information to create an account.
It's great that conservative thoughts aren't censored, but is it really free thought if it only happens in an echo chamber? Am I being paranoid, or is the platform just a collective right wing database, that is being sealed off and silenced from the internet right before the election?
I don't like twitter style social media. While I realize a myspace clone might not fly in 2020, I do like the news, memes, and groups of facebook.
If someone could hybradize FB and Myspace with absolute free speech that would be the perfect website.
Which myspace, the shitty band music site, or the amazing social media sites that lasted a couple years?
The one that made you learn to code HTML, Duh :D
So the amazing one!
This is kinda a good point. What ruined social media was the "feed". Old school myspace, you had to go to someone's page to check for updates.
The"feed" is what makes modern day social media full of memes and clickbait.
