Unfortunately I think all that will happen is the big socials will lay low for 1.5 weeks and then do everything starting the Thursday leading up to the election. They and their "internal employee revolt" will use "algorithm mistakes" to try to swing the election. Make no mistake they probably have already planned for themselves to MAKE the election eve surprise.
The perverse incentive is there - the big socials already shown they can disrupt foreign governments. If they do it here with no repercussions( a Dem majority means they will never be investigated), think what bargaining power they have with ANY advertiser, ANY intelligence agency, ANY government? They will have proven to have a mafia blackmailers power with any public person, whether negative information exists or not is irrelevant. It is no longer "show me the man and I will show you the crime.", it is now "show me the man and I will expunge his positive coverage, suppress his account, ban his supporters, and clear his opponent's name.
