Well, to be honest, that is fairly typical of high risk layoffs. Companies are rightly concerned about sabotage and other retaliation. I worked at a computer company that didn't do this and announced layoffs in advance. They regretted it. I also knew people who were part of a mass lay off from a major online company and they were taken to an offsite meeting for the announcement and not allowed back to the office. The company packed up and shipped their personal belongings to them.
Ultima Online was absolutely groundbreaking. Adored it, ugly bumps and all. Kinda hate that the Everquest model (WoW clones) took off instead of the more sandbox living world UO.

Prior to those changes you had to rely on combo fields to survive in group PvP.
There weren't any classes that shit out boons at a press of a button nor classes that could keep up max stacks of boons forever.
You had to be very organized to properly heal, clear condi's, and apply boons.
I was also a part of a team of 10-15 players who regularly took out 20-50 players at a time and at times full map zergs like 80-100.
It honestly sounds to me like it's more balanced now, then. I had an absolute blast playing WvW constantly.

Why bring up and attack strawman white nationalist out of nowhere, are you Christopher Wray or a 'fellow white' ? Do you bring up 'this is the immigrants you proimmigrant people want, i mean it checked all the boxes right?' everytime a non white commit or support acts of violence (which is actually statistically more likely)?
