Everyone should be treated according to one's INDIVIDUAL merit!

Agreed. We all kinds of different people, with all kinds of different talents. Also, God seems to have a sense of humor, distributing talent where He wills, instead of where people think He should.

Meanwhile, human beings are simply not all that different.

The variations in size, for instance, are all found on the continent of Africa, and even the difference between the smallest and largest healthy adult males is narrow compared to dogs (think St. Bernard and teacup chihuahua.

Hair texture ranges from frizzy to smooth, but the long stuff is all confined to the head, and there is nothing like the short little eyelash-like hair of the chihuahua.

Hair color ranges from black through brown and red and white, but there is nothing like the patterns of mixed colors found on dogs -- stripes and spots and calico.

The simple truth is that humans are one species, and their differentiation is becoming less as whole populations move around.

We are generally in agreement. Just a few nitpicks:

Meanwhile, human beings are simply not all that different.

No one cares about human size, skin color, etc. It's all about the evolution of the brain.

Some ethnic groups had very strong selection for intelligence for thousands of generations: you had to plan ahead, build reliable shelter, preserve food for winter, etc. Some ethnic groups had literacy for hundreds of generations, where the smartest scholars and businessmen had the most surviving offspring.

Other ethnic groups lived in tropical climates where food is easier to obtain year-round, which favored the genes of the best runners, rock throwers, malaria survivors, etc - not necessarily correlated with intelligence, impulse control, etc.

(think St. Bernard and teacup chihuahua.

I agree with your point, although human selective breeding has played the greatest role in producing those extremes.

The simple truth is that humans are one species, and their differentiation is becoming less as whole populations move around.

Yup. And things like genetic engineering and AI implants will change absolutely everything...
