I have had a similar feeling as well. Having a few lefty friends on Facebook and reading similar comments from local lefties who post and every corona related news article from a local alphabet network affiliate, I have felt for a while now that these leftists will never be able to return to a pre-Covid normal.
They have spent the last seven-ish months existing, not living, existing in abject fear and terror of dying from going outside to get the mail and have a neighbor on the other side of the street mow their lawn without wearing a mask. Psychologically, even if the Democrat governor of their state said coronavirus has been eradicated they would still live in terror. I don’t see many of them ever be able to attend a concert, sporting events, etc. With thousands of People sitting able to elbow cheering, drinking, etc.
There’s a town Facebook group and they’re all legit psychos. They argue about corona all day and night and then there’s the “muh I’m a nurse” gang that claims BUT WAIT, ITS GONNA GET SOOOOOO BAD!
Ah the,” everyone’s all gonna die from Covid, trust me I am a nurse“ people. Just as you have said, locally they’re on there about once a month, particularly shortly before or after any holiday, i.e. memorial day, Fourth of July, etc. Since Covid hit claiming this is the end we’re gonna get overwhelmed millions are going to die etc.
A few of the more common/vocal ones who claimed to be nurses were so overwhelmed they could literally spend all day on Facebook telling you to shut up, wear a mask, I am a hero and also post pictures from their trips to the beach, dinner with friends at a restaurant, etc. All while telling you to stay at home shut up and respect me because I am a nurse.
