The former rabbi there had attended every Saturday service for 35 years but on that one particular day he decided to stay at home to look after his wife.

His son is also a rabbi in Florida and assisted the FBI in a sting to catch a would be muslim terrorist by using his synagogue as the target for a fake bomb supplied by the FBI.

That synagogue is about a mile from where a man lived in his van and was arrested for also using fake bombs.
