I mean, when you talk about chemically, mentally, psychologically changing a person, especially a young person to believe something they aren't, especially to make them what you as a parent believe they should be, sounds so similar to the concept of Conversion Therapy.

The Left has but one rule. Power.
All the endless discussions about the obvious hypocrisies cover up the fact that ... they aren't hypocrisies. They are different angles towards power for different times.
It's even more similar than you say. They're explicitly targeting children which may temporarily exhibit behavior outside of strict gender norms for "transition" because they'd rather have a sick daughter than a gay son.
Seriously, speak to them and let them talk for a bit, and you'll find out they are virulently anti-gay to the point of getting furious if you accuse them of being homosexual.
