Seth Rich was a socialist who was murdered after releasing internal DNC emails. He wasn’t a Trump supporter. It’s a “the enemy of my enemy” type of thing.

Seth Rich was a Bernie bro. As a former Bernie bro myself, I can assure you that many of them were and are based patriots who love America and hate the political establishment. Much as shithead neocons like Romney and McCain are resented by honorable conservatives, the establishment democrats draw even more resentment from the left.

I think a lot of people supported Bernie, not because of his socialist views specifically, but because he wasn't part of the democrat establishment and in a way it a test to see if the votes on the left even mattered. Ultimately since they rigged things in Hillary's favor, that was a demonstration of just how corrupt and unsalvageable the democrats were, and many switched sides to Trump.

Often people wonder how people could support Bernie and the switch to Trump, despite Trump being opposed to socialism; it's because they were both anti-establishment (aka uniparty, aka deep state etc) and the primary "single issue" was wrestling control from the establishment and returning it to the people. I think a large part of the upset of Trumps unexpected win was misunderstanding how many people support Bernie for his anti-establishment views as opposed to his socialist views.

There was always kind of an understanding (among some) that Bernie wouldn't actually succeed in bringing socialism, but he would succeed in wrestling control of the democrat party from the establishment. Exactly like Trump did to the republicans.

I think there are a lot of people here on TDW who were former Bernie people, that are still voting for Trump as he's still our best chance of returning power to the people.

We are in Trump Wars Episode 6: Return of the Republic

Supposedly Trump got like 15% of the disgruntled Bernie Bro vote and it probably was a deciding factor. I used to detest Bernie but watching how hard the Dem establishment is working to shut him out of the nomination gives me at least a modicum of respect for the guy. 2016 I could see with a long, hard primary. But the latest go round Bernie was running away with it...and then Joe Biden surges ahead?

I almost wonder if the dems wouldn't rather take an L on this election rather than having Bernie take over their party. The dem big money donors are likely not happy with a proposed wealth tax. And God forbid actual dem voters and even gasp black people have an actual say in the party. I have no doubt the monied leftists and big donors wanted him out.

The dems, like you said, missed the point. It wasn't so much about the issues. Giving lip service to tranny rights, govt. healthcare, and global warming doesn't cut it. A lot of the Bernie Bro's are sick of the business as usual bullshit the Dems are peddling.

Great analysis. I also used to lean anti-establishment as well, and what you said is spot on. Always saw Bernie as a commie fraud though.
