"I think it's very important for the American people to know that your family has donated tens of thousands of dollars to Obama, Clinton, and Biden, you were a registered Democrat until very recently, and you deleted your twitter right before this debate."
He'd probably need to do it on several occasions during the debate so that if selective editing or technical glitches occur at these points it's even more obvious what they are trying to hide
Tucker Carlson also did at least 2 video interviews(Here's one, 36mins) that I recall during The Campaign (one during the DNC convention week) and had previously done two in-studio interviews prior to the launch of "Tucker Carlson Tonight" on Fox.
Carlson would be a lightning rod for more criticism.

I've been half-expecting Trump to tell the commission that he won't participate in a debate stacked for the Democrats. Period, end of discussion.
