Modern readers of Torah still need a temple w a D'vir - the commentaries and elucidations etc are not borne of a connection to God, they are from an era when the penitent, who did not have God's name on their hearts, sought out the Messiah. But they need to have a Temple to have oblations. God demands his sacrifices, the Bible is clear on this.
