The mask is not for COVID. Not really. The mask is an emotional placebo designed to help fragile people get through the election. It's literally an anti-Trump placebo. These people deeply need an authority in their lives, it's what makes them feel safe, and seeing others wearing the mask reassures them that such an authority exists, while they've been trained to believe Donald Trump is trying to take it away.
The actual science behind masks is so overwhelmingly inconclusive, after so many studies, that anyone suggesting they work is either not a scientist, or committing a gross act of scientific malpractice.
The mask is for getting people used to complying. Then when the "vaccine" rolls out, people will already be stuck in the gut of compliance and will be more willing to take it.
There isn't going to be a vaccine, not unless congress passes a blanket immunity for the drug manufacturers to sell whatever septic tank effluent they can dredge up as a vaccine.

Look up the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act. It was passed in 1986 because the vaccine makers were loosing too much money in lawsuits due to their vaccines hurting people. Among other things, it established a separate court for those who have been injured by vaccines. It is strongly set up in favor of the vaccine makers, and no decision can (against the vaccine manufacturer) be used as precedent, unlike regular courts. This is makes it much harder to win a case against a vaccine maker.

A woman used this example as to why we all need to wear masks: "All my girlfriends and I were healthy. We decided to go to the park for lunch. We sat on the picnic tables there, far away from each other. And we all still caught Covid, It was miserable... We wore masks there and after lunch we put them back on. Everyone needs to wear masks..."
There are so many holes in her example I was dumfounded. So even though I seriously doubt she reads this website, I need to say what I wanted to say but was too surprised at her specious reasoning to respond.... so, to the dumb Karen lecturing me...
a) you were all wearing masks and got sick anyway.
b) you were all at a public park -- where, at least in Phoenix, the homeless sleep at night. A picnic table is a bed for a homeless person. So you ate on their bed!
c) The fact that the 4 of you all got sick even though you say you were healthy, and you say you wore masks, is not PROOF that masks are needed. It's proof masks don't do a damn thing.... and you were exposed at the park because who knows who was there moments before you got there?!?
