In the 2016 general election I voted in a very blue precinct in Ga. When I went to the first table with my ID, I was asked to check whether I wanted an R or D ballot. (No one else around me was asked - and none of them looked quite as conservative as me, if looks are a guide)
I responded, “Neither, this is the general.” I also need to add, this was afternoon during a presidential election. I was probably the 500th person by then. She argued with me for a long time wanting me to mark my paper. I threatened to call the Secretary of State office in Atlanta.
Eventually, someone else came by and told the lady it was “just a suggestion” and not a requirement. Still wrong, but I took my ballot and voted.
Looking back, I think there was a concerted effort to flag R ballots. I wasn’t as aware of the fraud back then, but I am now.
TL:DR - Who do we call if we see shady stuff like this on Election Day?
Go to your secretary of state site and look up your voting history. If they discard your vote, challenge it. If it's a close election, they will then investigate whether your ballot is legal or not.
I didn’t know you could do that. I’ll check that out.
