Believe it or not, he hold conservative values regarding his interpersonal relationships, but he hasn't been taught why society functions the way it does. So taking advantage of these things is seeing as normal to him.
Slowly I am getting him to see things differently. He stopped using reddit two weeks ago because of this, so I think now is a good time to push forward with him.
His father immigrated here but never assimilated. Growing up he had absolutely 0 guidance on values, how to act, what to do in situations. Everything he learned was from his group of friends. Tbh I took the role of mentor to him and tried rubbing off the values I was taught, but you can't ever replace a father.
