So the FBI knew about the hard drives then and were arresting Bannon in an attempt to steal them (then lose the evidence).

That's some straight up gestapo bullshit.

that was my thought too. clearly he got yhe hard drives wbile on the boat - but somehow got them off before being arrested. maybe sent them ashore on the lifeboat or jet ski before post office nabbed him? also, this seems interesting seeing as how post office is delivering ballots...
