That's Alexis Ohanian's wife Serena Williams. I don't understand why none of you people can pay attention. Ohanian is far more political than Huffman is, Huffman just wants to be a Silicon Valley hotshot so he'll kowtow to the left. While he is actually a leftist himself, he's simply more neoliberal pragmatic than Ohanian was.

Ohanian is the one who was discovered to be attempting to sell his "services" to Stratfor, not Huffman. I wonder what Ohanian did that we don't know about after Smith-Mundt Modernization Act got passed.

The President should use his Covid emergency powers to seize their platform and remove all censorship. In addition to election interference, they have obstructed valid and beneficial health information andused censorshi, network amplification effects, and falsely labeled ‘trends’ to promote harmful narratives that have materially damaged Americans.

I only hope it’s not just twitter and facebook that are addressed. All companies that censor online comments and searches need to be included in any effort to preserve free speech. Google for starters, and many others fit this description.

All talk. The left has got all the major networks and Hollywood without firing a single water pistol. We have lost the culture war and this is something we cannot get back by killing people. Certainly it doesn't help that we are alienating Fox news at the first cuck moment they have. Keep your allies

13
Wtf_socialismreally 13 points ago +13 / -0

Fox News deserves to be alienated. And what are they going to do, exactly? Their reputation is permanently hurt on the left.

2
JonyJony 2 points ago +3 / -1

Fox news is making possible Tucker (number one), Hannity, Ingraham, Levin, Greg, Jessie, Maria. All these are mainstream conservative go-to people for normies. So why fuck this network which has the best ratings for the above shows??

What's interesting here is that twitter doesn't just delete the posts themselves. This is what the CCP does. Bow in submission before you're sentenced, so everyone knows the CCP was right.

It pretty much destroyed his business for at least a few years. Twitter and Facebook, on the other hand, can curate content to allow threats of violence against one group of people, while silencing those who merely dissent. All this, while an army of lawyers and lobbyist ensure they can act with impunity.

MenicusMoldbug 14 points ago +15 / -1

We need two things better than that:

Make political affiliation a federally protected class.

Pass a law requiring companies to make "good faith" enforcement of their terms of service.

That would enable civil suits for this sort of conduct.

10
Wtf_socialismreally 10 points ago +10 / -0

We certainly also need to get rid of this "we reserve the right to ban you for any reason" clause.

Be transparent with your rules, clearly outline them and ban the ones who break them.

5
MenicusMoldbug 5 points ago +5 / -0

Consistent application of the rules. Thats what is not happening now. Thats where a "good faith" law would work.

9
ProdigalPlaneswalker 9 points ago +9 / -0

Consistent application of the rules.

Like cops arresting people enjoying parks, kayaking, or defending their businesses. But not arresting rioters.

4
MenicusMoldbug 4 points ago +4 / -0

Right. That's a travesty and shit like that is why I'm not all on board with this Blue Lives Matter stuff.

They are out there arresting people in churches while kneeling to BLM murderers.

2
Sophocles 2 points ago +2 / -0

No. We need helicopters and we need common carrier regulations, not "good faith". "Good Faith" is too vague

5
synd1050 5 points ago +5 / -0

remember when they first started. "oh, it is crazy white supremacists. everyone hates them" "oh it is crazy white nationalists and race realists.they are spewing hate" "oh.it is Alex jones.he is a dangerous conspiracy nut" "oh, it is controversial conservatives".

you have to ask why conservatives are always weak. forget about libertarian philosophy; it doesn't work when a gun is pointed at your head. the free market doesn't work if the market isn't actually free. an online bill of rights is needed.

We are way past this. This is criminal activity and requires immediate and overwhelming state response. Use klan law and precedents. This is beyond Jim Crow stuff.

4

The US government as a matter of practical power can do whatever it likes in the matter and there is nothing Twitter or any of them can do about it. There are legal restraints in the matter, but no physical ability constraints to speak of.

NY Post needs to have its lawyers file a 230 suit against Twitter. Like now. And don't let up once they cave.

You want to be a publisher and not a platform? Fine. Get ready to start cutting checks for everyone who's called Trump a "nazi", as well as for each person who retweeted it.

This shit is straight up 1984. They aren’t even hiding it anymore. Time to bust up big tech.

16
Fiscal22 16 points ago +16 / -0

They are also actively suppressing the 4chan story from overnight of the massive voter fraud in OR and other states.

It is BEYOND time for Trump and company to completely abandon the platform and give prominence, attention and legitimacy to a new platform like Parler or something. GET OFF Twitter it needs to die and continuing to stay on there when they ass ream you over and over just legitimizes their practice.

Take it easy, Zuck and Jack and the Google foreigners have crossed the line and Trump in his second term is going be this century's trust-buster

9
rootGoose 9 points ago +9 / -0

The following is completely tyrannical and also completely effective:

  • Confiscate Twitter’s domain names
  • Redirect all of them to a government website
  • Confiscate any new domain name the company may procure as a workaround
  • If any other company, like Google, acts as a proxy on their behalf from their website(s), treat them the same

This would be in leu of demanding they shutdown their servers and/or their ISPs shutdown access.

2
ThoughtExperiment 2 points ago +2 / -0

Or an enforcement agency loyal to trump just kicks in their doors, flip desks, smashes computers, beats up anyone they can get their hands on. And then with a boot on Jack Dorsey's neck, tells him that if we have to come back, it will be 100 times worse.

9

This is just flat out partisan censorship. Can you imagine Facebook or Twitter “fact checking” and blocking a NYTimes story on Trump and Russians? Never happened right? This is just partisan election interference and it is outrageous. What will be done about this?

1
QueensOwn 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yup. Then again this is expected behavior of a Democrat.

6
JimRaynor 6 points ago +6 / -0

This is election tampering. Twitter must register as a democrat operative and put it on top of their page that they are a DNC related organisation. That impartiality lie can’t hold anymore.

If not. Shut it down. I’d rather see a “THIS WEBSITE IS SEIZED BY ICE” message on Twitter.com and get tweets from POTUS in Parler or GAB

3
540k-Again 3 points ago +3 / -0

Pay attn, this isn't a standoff, the marxists are about to be caught in a double-envelopment, by double-pincers... like two-curved, hollow fangs.

Reading all the above comments: Hasn't anyone learned how to win yet??? We are winners [Redpill], not whiners [Bluepill]. Let's recap:

BLUEPILLS:

  • anti-trust

  • Sect 230

  • Utility regulation

  • muh non-government entity violates my Bill of Rights

  • Whining

REDPILLS

  • Enforcing the Law

  • One standard of Law

  • Due Process

  • No Corruption

  • Honest Cops

  • Honest & Fair Judges

  • Clean Evidence

  • Jury of one's peers

I'm gunna repeat one more time (or 1000 more times); there are plenty of real crimes being committed that have NOTHING to do with Sect 230. Sect 230 is irrelevant. So is Anti-trust, utility, Freedom of X,Y,Z lawsuits, are red herrings, irrelevant, and all bluepills

In completely unrelated info:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aiding_and_abetting

Bad Big Tech will end up like ENRON.

Pay attn, this isn't a standoff, the marxists are about to be caught in a double-envelopment, by double-pincers... like two-curved, hollow fangs.

Don't break them up. Treat them as publishers. Reform section 230 to make clear you can't selectively enforce policies, suppress or promote stories, etc. based on political idealogies, and still qualify for 230 protections. Also, it seems to me there would be a case that they made in-kind campaign contributions to Biden's campaign, since they were so clearly selectively and incorrectly applying their policy enforcement.
