Honestly, I think Hollywood suffering is the BEST thing about this stupid plandemic.

I hope eventually there’s a generation that has no idea what celebrities, movies or TVs are, but aren’t living in a dystopia either.

It's good, but Netflix and the online companies seem to be doing better than ever. So well Netflix couldn't back down from their pedo movie regardless of outrage or their own self decency.

Luckyguerin13 29 points ago +30 / -1

I’m slowly trying to get away from that and Prime too. I was just sticking to YouTube because I had Red (no ads; it came with Google Play All Access — which they’ve got rid of and forced YouTube music which sucks) but now I’ve ended my subscription with them because they’re deleting all my favorite channels (Edge of Wonder, Amazing Polly, etc) and I voiced my opinion about it to them and told them to get bent.

I gotta find other things to entertain me and stay away from my tv and phone.

Lurker404 18 points ago +18 / -0

I've been mostly watching Youtubers who focus on various hobbies. Picked up a couple of productive hobbies that teach useful skills instead of wasting time on TV series. Thanks to adblock there are no ads on Youtube. Might suck for the Youtubers I watch but I'd rather donate a bit here and there directly or buy their merch than give Youtube one cent.

Every few months I get free Amazon Prime to catch up on what I want to watch.

Of course I would never pirate anything. That would be so totally immoral!

All in all I've been saving a lot of money on entertainment and came out ahead.

Luckyguerin13 10 points ago +10 / -0

Yep. I watch a lot of upcycling videos or bargain buys. Then I get hooked on woodworking and resin videos too! Lol

Then it’s a rabbit hole of stuff and I’m watching guys turn a nut and bolt into a tiny sword. It’s good stuff!

7
Lurker404 7 points ago +7 / -0

It's mainly electronics and metal working for me, bit of wood working too. Quite useful when stuff breaks around the house.

Bolts seem to be popular. Recently watched someone turn a bolt into a combination lock: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyhfQYHnJuM He also does tool restoration videos which are fun to watch.

Dude's got an amazing attention to detail.

These machining videos in general are fascinating. This Old Tony's espresso pot probably was the one that got me into it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMrlyEreba8 And it only keeps going from there: outside of political stuff Youtube's recommendations can be pretty good (as long as you start with a "fresh" session, i.e. no account and no cookies, so recommendations are only tied to the topic you just watched).

I finally broke and watched The Boys on Prime. By the 3rd episode of season 1 I picked up on the anti American Nationalism, anti Christian messaging. Normies at work love it. 1 of them is kinda suspect but I won't get into that.

6
soyboybetafaggot 6 points ago +6 / -0

remember, all Nationalism is bad, unless its Wakandan Nationalism, in which case Nationalism is super awesome.

3
PostalJusticeWatson 3 points ago +3 / -0

That about says it. And the loons present examples of the worst people to implicate the whole of Christianity when there's been billions of good Christians to have walked this earth who've not wronged anyone...And yet reject this logic when used in kind. Flaunt hollywood depictions as anecdotal evidence and rail against western values. There's finally someone in office to make good on promises made by others, and the entire machine shows up to stop it, these folks are so invested in their conditioning they fail to see the devices in play

3
Luckyguerin13 3 points ago +3 / -0

I love that show, but I totally picked up on that BS too. I told my friend (who I watch this with) that the show is pushing the alt-right terrorist propaganda BS hard. She agreed. Up is down, right is wrong.

3
PostalJusticeWatson 3 points ago +3 / -0

That and the interpersonal drama filler that occupies the other 85% of the screenplay. Really lost the plot, now just normiebait. At this point I'm asking myself how many viewers mostly have it on in the background while they jack around on their phones and say they like it? Episode 5 and I'm done.

3
No_Fun_Allowed 3 points ago +3 / -0

I thought the first season was pretty good. About four episodes in to season two the bad guys turn into literal nazis who are influencing people to murder foreigners, since they might be unlicensed supes/villains. So much for the more subtle aspects I enjoyed about the show.

7

Exactly! Like pro sports, I have no intention of going to the movies ever again anyway. The entire industry can fold for all I care. Won't miss the Commie Fucks one bit.

7
TheThreeSeashells 7 points ago +7 / -0

I haven't been to a movie theater in 14 years and haven't paid to rent a movie since Blockbuster closed, whenever that was. Not to say I haven't seen movies since then. I have...which is why I won't pay for it. If they start making good movies, coming up with original ideas again, arrest the pedos and shut up about politics, then maybe I'll open my wallet. For now I have better ways to spend my money.

3
GulagDweller 3 points ago +3 / -0

II watch mostly old movies and avoid most all new movies and movies with Commies and Pedos in them. We know who they are. I am perfectly happy watching old stuff, even old shows. I could sit and watch Beverly Hillbillies, Gomer Pyle, The Munsters, Three Stooges, Columbo, Gilligan's Island, Good Times, Taxi, Sanford and Son, All in the Family .....all day long. When shows were good and decent.

2
TheThreeSeashells 2 points ago +2 / -0

Same here. These is mostly what we watch, too. Some of the better "newer" stuff, too from just before everything went full on woke. If you like Columbo (watching it tonight), you'd probably like Monk. Burn Notice is another great show that unfortunately doesn't run in syndication right now. I have no idea why.

Funny thing is a lot of waiting rooms I go to are usually tuned to a channel showing classic TV shows and a lot of people talk about how much they enjoy them. I never hear anyone talking about new shows. For all the talk about how popular something like Game of Thrones is, I've never met one single person who watches it. Meanwhile, you mention Three's Company and everyone has seen it. It's no mistake these shows are airing 30, 40, 50 and even 60 years later and still drawing ratings.

2
GulagDweller 2 points ago +2 / -0

Definite agreement! Never saw Monk or Burn Notice, I'll have to catch them if I can.

2
Shalomtoyou 2 points ago +2 / -0

Few years back I felt like watching a film noir, so I got ... what was it called.... Double Indemnity off Netflix. Came in the mail. It was late at night after work. Slipped out the disk and said: "Wow, this movie is old than my father. Well, I'll just watch a half hour, go to sleep, and finish it tomorrow night."

I was spellbound the whole movie. Amazing what you can do with strong dialogue and little special effects.

2
GulagDweller 2 points ago +2 / -0

No doubt! There are so many older movies I can watch over and over again and I enjoy doing it. Honestly, I haven't seen a single movie in the last 4 years or so I would pay to see or even watch for free. I'm sure there are a few, but I'm not going through them to pick out the few good ones,

4
Shalomtoyou 4 points ago +4 / -0

Comedies are the worst. I haven't seen a new Comedy that made me laugh since Hangover. Then they made two sequels, and they both sucked!

I'm okay with the super hero movies.... usually. Some of those suck too. (Captain Marvel... Justice League... haven't even bothered with Birds of Prey)

1
GulagDweller 1 point ago +1 / -0

Only comedies I have enjoyed had Rob Schneider or Adam Sandler in them. Beyond those two, I can't recall seeing one that actually made me laugh.

I like Horror Movies the most, that why I like this time of year. The good thing is that most of Pedo Hollywood Libtard Actors do not usually touch horror films. I like that fact.

Despite absolutely enjoying many movies, I've never understood why professional roleplaying was held in greater esteem than the screenwriter themselves. Honestly I like this good opportunity to bring back drive ins.?I miss those as a kid

21
Trump4allz [S] 21 points ago +21 / -0

We still have quite a few in Indiana. I am less than a half away away from 3 of them. One of them is owned by a cuck that searches your car for snacks before you can enter. I never go to that one.

13
Jabo2531 13 points ago +13 / -0

I live in Indiana as well Ive seen the few that are around me but they are a 20-30 minute drive and they never seem to play anything I care to watch.

Every time I look it’s just niche stuff or things I already have at the house. But seriously they should bulldoze the existing buildings and just turn them into drive-ins. Would really cut down on the bootleggers and it wouldn’t be to hard to limit the range on the fm transmitters for the vehicles

11
Trump4allz [S] 11 points ago +11 / -0

They are mostly playing old stuff because Hollywood has barely made any movies this year

6
Jabo2531 6 points ago +6 / -0

Oh I know, but even before all this they still did it at least every time I checked. It’s just not worth it to me to drive 26 miles to see Jurassic park, ghostbusters etc.

4
Trump4allz [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

Thats odd because the ones around me would always have new releases. But I do remember a few years ago that the drive ins had to purchase new projectors that were around 100k each, in order to play the new HD movies. So maybe the ones by you never made the switch?

3
Jabo2531 3 points ago +3 / -0

Maybe idk, they are far from me so I don’t really look unless I get an inkling to do so.

1
TheThreeSeashells 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's funny because the drive-ins near us (three within an hour drive) were only playing older movies this summer because nothing new came out and I'd much rather drive/pay to see those. Problem was most of them were still garbage I wouldn't even watch for free on TV. The only double feature I even considered was Back to the Future and Smokey and the Bandit. You can't account for the bad taste of the owners.

1
TheThreeSeashells 1 point ago +1 / -0

There's one near me that put up a big notice on their site about wearing masks in the concession stand. Plus they also don't allow outside snacks, so if you want popcorn or something you HAVE to go into the concession stand. Sorry, but I'm looking to be entertained and stop thinking about politics, not be reminded about all the cucks out there. If they want a bunch of Karens coming to their business, count me out.

5
deleted 5 points ago +6 / -1
1
lifeisahologram 1 point ago +1 / -0

I really wish they did too. They are great fun and hard to find real ones that play double features for the price of one AND play new movies.

Redwood DriveInn in Utah, and one in Sparks Nevada are the only ones I know that still do it. Everyone else just does single shows for the same price and/or don’t show new movies.

22
Gramma53 22 points ago +22 / -0

At least something good will come out of it. Hollywood and their ilk have believed for decades that they are better than the rest of us -- but 95.69% are the lowest of the low.

9
slimcoat 9 points ago +9 / -0

I'm not sure this is an indication of Hollywood suffering, just the movie theaters. Seems like Hollywood is totally fine with theaters dying if it means they can get more subscribers on their streaming platforms.

5
TheThreeSeashells 5 points ago +5 / -0

Still not paying for either. I'm pretty stubborn. I wish there were more Conservatives that also were stubborn enough to stop donating money to the Left...which is exactly what paying for movies or streaming services is doing.

2
slimcoat 2 points ago +2 / -0

Agreed. I only pay for hard copies of movies or TV shows on DVD/Blu-ray, and even then it's older stuff -- barely anything within the last 10-20 years.

2
TheThreeSeashells 2 points ago +2 / -0

This is the way to go. There's a good aftermarket for DVD/Blu-ray and you can pick up great stuff really cheap. Hollywood doesn't get YOUR money for it and you can watch it as long as you own the hard copy and a player for them.

This is opposed to subscribing to streaming services that constantly change what they do and don't carry and your "digital" purchases on any cloud provider being subject to them either staying in business or not changing their terms of service, which happens all the time. I bought some videos on Amazon years ago when that started, just to see how it worked. Something changed with their service and now I can no longer watch those videos. That never would have happened if I simply bought a DVD/Blu-Ray instead.

2
slimcoat 2 points ago +2 / -0

AND your hard copies are tamper-proof... i.e. the people running the streaming services can add/remove/change scenes if they want.

Sorry to get all conspiratorial, but there seems to be something else going on with Hollywood during this pandemic. Many films, to include some that have completed filming, have been pushed for at least a year. Most theaters in my area are showing older movies. Late night shows are not only online now, but their guest lists have been mostly free of many A-list celebrities. Something strange is afoot I tell you.

2

All part of the plan, my fren. They're evil but they're not idiots.

Our Deep State Globalist Overlords do not want us doing ANYTHING that has us gathering in large groups to have fun or do something positive: movies, concerts, stage shows, church, school, etc etc

They do not want us bonding together over anything Except the Overlords.

Why do you think people in North Korea will cry real tears when they see their leader? Because They Have Nothing Else to Bond Over - not families, not friends (can't trust anyone), not a great film or a beautiful show.

Nothing.

The Commie Flu's job was to shut down anything we bond over, and it's working. Churches, schools, concerts, shows, movie theaters, even your neighborhood park.

Don't let them do this. They want us isolated, separated, and trusting no one except the Overlords.

TheThreeSeashells 4 points ago +4 / -0

Perfect example. I have no idea why even people on here go on and on about The Avengers movies. I saw the first two (for free), falling for the hype, and they were both awful. I skipped the last two. I heard a lot of the same about the Black Panther movie and it was one of the most boring pieces of crap I've ever seen. I've seen all of the Marvel movies (all for free) except Captain SJW Marvel. The Black Panther was easily and by far the worst.

The closest to being as bad was probably the Captain America movie where the "heroes" all fought each other and there wasn't an actual villain. (I think it was called "Civil War", but I don't care as I'd never watch it again.) It's all just recycled garbage anyway and unoriginal.
