Indeed. Great guns, however. Every person I've ever taken shooting has had the opportunity to shoot some common 380 acp and 9mm firearms, like a g19 and S&W M&P and each one of them, independently of each other and my own opinions, has enjoyed my XDms more and shot them better.
They really knocked it out of the park with the Hellcat as well. I picked one up recently but have not switched to it since I don't have much range time with it. Also a great shooter and without the reliability issues that plagued the p365.
I heard a rumor they might do a forty cal version of the Hellcat, which makes me wonder if we'll see a stack and a half .45 acp sometime, too.
I got the XDm 3.8 Compact about 3 years ago, when Springfield was clearing them out apparently, for $330 shipped. Then they discontinued that line, which I thought was dumb. The C model is 13+1 like your XD 3 inch, and it takes the 19 round magazines from the full sized XDm. I have an XDm 4.5 FDE as well so that's handy, and I carry a spare 19 round mag using a Reload Wrap.
Anyway, Springfield recently released the XDm Elite series, including the Compact model again, which added what they call the META trigger, that adds the crispness you're talking about. Plus ambi controls and the same U-notch rear sight as on the hellcat. I think it's a pretty decent set of upgrades, hopefully able to snag one for a reasonable price soon.

I love my 3in 9mm XD. I've thrown thousands of rounds through it trouble free. The only complaint I have is that the trigger could be a bit crisper.
