In case anyone is confused, campaigns use “surrogates” to flood the airwaves but they are NOT official campaign spokespeople.
That’s the beauty of using a surrogate. They can go on the attack or play defense and it affords the campaign the luxury of being able to say that the surrogate does NOT speak for the campaign.
So the news here isn’t that the Biden campaign is actually admitting anything. The news is that even Biden’s own surrogates aren’t being given clear talking points on how to handle the question of authenticity.
Bottom line is, if the emails could be denied, they would be.
