How do you all avoid wearing a mask when the punishments are so harsh? I’m in Honolulu and if I’m caught without a mask I’ll have to go to court for a misdemeanor and pay up to $5000. Have any of you been cited or gone to court and had your case thrown out?

Take the fine and sue the government. That’s your only option.
Can you give us a boots on the ground report about the situation there? The islands rely on tourism for their economy and I’ve heard about some draconian shit happening there as well and maisie should be tarred and feathered and then quartered
We recently got out of our second lockdown / stay home order and entered tier 1 of 4 of reopening on Sept. 24, and on Oct. 15 we opened to tourism. All tourists must take a covid test and get a negative result within 72 hours of flight departure otherwise they’ll need to quarantine in their hotel for 14 days. Between Oct 16-17 we had 16,000 visitors arrive. Normally we get around 30,000 per day. I believe schools still aren’t doing in person teaching right now (not sure; I don’t have kids). Many places like bars, clubs, and gyms are still closed. Many businesses that have been around for years have permanently closed. Masks are required everywhere and in all 4 tiers except when outdoors where you can keep 6+ft of distance. Almost all open businesses are limited to 50% capacity and group gatherings are limited to 5 people. All this bullshit pisses me off so I just go to work and stay home. The plus side is at least there’s less traffic.
Thanks.
Tell them you were wearing a Mask but it got contaminated and you can’t find another one, and therefore you were not defying the order but only a victim of circumstances (assuming that all of that is true).
I like this answer. Maybe I'll start carrying a mask in my pocket with a broken strap.
Arrest Fauci!!
I have a mask with me just on my chin. That would have to be a real jerk of a cop to give you a ticket if you put it on when he says something.
Your problem is you're in a stupid blue city in a stupid blue state.
I'm in a blue city with similar mask ordinances, but its in a red state. I'm sure that makes a huge difference with how this shit is upheld.
Its really unfortunate because a lot of those blue on blue areas would be near perfect areas if it wasn't for the commies.
OP's town of Honolulu is a place people dream of, California has some of the most beautiful environments in the world, the pacific northwest is an outdoorsman's paradise... But filthy liberals come and litteraly burn it to the ground and shit all over it.
Wear one with an anti mask message like "Fascist submission symbol"
hawaii is fucked. but medical exemptions should exist. but you can't even go to the beach can you?
Sounds like a shithole and I would suggest moving.
That's always been our problem: we keep running away at the first sign of trouble instead of standing our ground and fighting back.
Wear the Trump mask. No mask/Trump mask is the same message.
I agree. But I don't want to wear a mask mainly because I get really fucking hot.
At least for me the Army taught me how easy it is to ignore dumb laws, so many dumb laws it's not only impossible to obey them all but some of them you would literally get in trouble if you did obey them, laws don't matter when no one's willing to enforce, hope your location isn't filled with assholes but I can understand being on the safe side if you don't get out enough to know
Problem is our cops are very much willing to enforce it. I think in one week a few months ago they issued over 10,000 covid citations.
You may want to move, things will get much worse before they get better, if you can't move then at least prepare to bunker down for awhile, these lockdowns /mask requirements are but a precursor to make it easy to get away with the nasty stuff and it sounds like you're in one of the blue areas
I'd love to move since Hawaii is boring as fuck, but I'm stuck here for a while. I have a secure, well paying job and we just bought a condo and have family here. My wife loves living here, but thankfully she's very much anti-libtard.
You don't have to wear a mask if you have health issues and they can't ask due to HIPPA laws.
