How do you all avoid wearing a mask when the punishments are so harsh? I’m in Honolulu and if I’m caught without a mask I’ll have to go to court for a misdemeanor and pay up to $5000. Have any of you been cited or gone to court and had your case thrown out?

Can you give us a boots on the ground report about the situation there? The islands rely on tourism for their economy and I’ve heard about some draconian shit happening there as well and maisie should be tarred and feathered and then quartered

We recently got out of our second lockdown / stay home order and entered tier 1 of 4 of reopening on Sept. 24, and on Oct. 15 we opened to tourism. All tourists must take a covid test and get a negative result within 72 hours of flight departure otherwise they’ll need to quarantine in their hotel for 14 days. Between Oct 16-17 we had 16,000 visitors arrive. Normally we get around 30,000 per day. I believe schools still aren’t doing in person teaching right now (not sure; I don’t have kids). Many places like bars, clubs, and gyms are still closed. Many businesses that have been around for years have permanently closed. Masks are required everywhere and in all 4 tiers except when outdoors where you can keep 6+ft of distance. Almost all open businesses are limited to 50% capacity and group gatherings are limited to 5 people. All this bullshit pisses me off so I just go to work and stay home. The plus side is at least there’s less traffic.
