Everyone on my side of the family have switched from Dem(Voting Twice for Obama) but my wife and her side of the family are die hard anti Trump for various reasons but the ring leader is my wife's Grandmother. She sends daily texts about Trump being awful. This doesn't bother me to much however I am not allowed to speak about politics to my wife because of the anger it sparks.

So recently there has been a good development where my wife is seeing the BS around Covid and is arguing with her grandmother about it because her grandmother is imprisoning her Great Grandmother and won't let he do anything and told her to wear a mask at home all day.

I showed my wife the recent video of the doctors on OAN speaking out and my wife liked it and sent it to her Grandma. Her Grandma responded with some crap about Fauci and WHO are sources of truth and science and it's Trump's fault we don't believe them.

Is there a good video or multiple videos that Prove that WHO and Fauci are full of shit. I think if I can win this battle I can get my wife to see the light that is Geotus.

If you read all this you are a true patriot!

TL;DR: How do I prove Fauci and WHO are full of shit?

Thanks everyone Trump2020!

Isn't there some videos of Fauci and WHO saying one thing and then saying the opposite a few days later?

The cdc released a presser a few weeks ago about the effectiveness of masks that states the overall effectiveness of the maskbis like less than 2 percent for transmission, both to others, and from others to you. Ill see if i can dig it up.

A bit technical but understandable if you take your time and read through it all, maybe two or three times. But their completely ineffective in a general population usage.

All the old folks homes play regular news networks which means they are limited to straight abc nbc and cspan. Which means they are communist.

simple logic should do the trick: if the masks work, then there's no reason to be stuck at home all day. if the masks don't work, what is the point of using them much less staying home all day?

....but then again we both know that none of this is about logic so that probably won't work.

i'd suggest that being the overreactor will usually work to convince superstitious idiots. in other words, since your wife and her grandmother are being ridiculous with covid hysteria, just do them one better instead of fighting them. put on a bee keeper's helmet next time you visit with a mask or two on underneath. wear latex gloves and apply hand sanitizer to the outside of the latex gloves. bring your own silverware if you are having a meal over at her house and rinse off all the food she made before you eat it. put plastic wrap around your shoes, etc.

basically go out of your way to be overzealous and cautious to the point where it's beyond silly about everything. with this approach they should eventually see how ridiculous this all is or at the very least they can witness what it looks like when someone overreacts to covid hysteria (which is what they are doing).

Read about The Great Barrington Declaration that is against the lockdowns. It has been signed by thousands of epidemiologists and public health scientists all over the world.

It recommends an alternative called "Focused Protection".

You have to understand that the beliefs held by people, especially very strong beliefs - are emotional, not rational.

You cannot "prove" they are wrong by offering facts. They will only see what they see. It does not change how they feel.

Try and talk at an emotional level. Lookup something called "Active Listening" and "Validation". There are very powerful techniques to connect to people who just do not want to listen to anything you say, openly hostile or live in a delusion.

The fact is, your grandmother is deadly terrified of losing her mother. The fear is driving her and the fear is blinding her. You cant talk her out of this fear with facts.

My parents were the same. Extremely terrified.

With my parents, I always used to start off saying "I know COVID is pretty dangerous for older people. But even for them its 1 in 20 chance of fatality.". At this point I would get a surprised "really?" and I would confirm it and continue "It doesn't mean that everyone who catches it will fall dead. But its much milder than a flu for younger people, and their lives are getting destroyed for no reason."

Now they have stopped worrying but take all sensible precautions. They are much happier.

Good luck Pede, but you are lucky your wife is coming around. Its hell to live with someone who is on the other side of this divide.

Thank you I will not let this info go to waste. I appreciate you taking the time to post this to help. My main focus is to help my wife over the hill rather than taking on the tyrant herself for now atleast. She will listen about covid as long as I avoid Trump. But I'm going to try this on her as well.

Yeah, but in the end we cannot change how people feel. We cannot redpill them forcibly. They have to open their eyes and open their minds and then they will ask for the red pill. Until then, just be patient.

Something you can do is this. Its extremely hard to do and requires a lot of fortitude. You can sit with her and comfort her and tell her that you udnerstand she is very scared of Trump. Then ask her to talk about her fears. Let her keep going, doesnt matter how irrational or absurd what she says is, just listen, comfort her, dont argue or interrupt and just tell her "I understand that is how you feel. I udnerstand you are afraid/angry/upset <whatever she says she is feeling>".

Remember you are not agreeing with her. You are simply acknowledging that you understand she is afraid.

You can even add the sentence "I may not see the things the way you do, but I understand you are afraid/angry/etc."

This is how we got to where we are today. She was super confused how I went from wearing matching bernie shirts in 2015 to know supporting Trump and I think that is what made her first question herself then the info she is getting from outside sources. She is actively fighting with her Grandmother about covid and locking down her great grandma and is looking to me to help her prove that her great grandmother is not in that much danger. So I see the opportunity here to get my wife to see the light fully.

You gotta tread the water careful with the great grandmother. If something were to happen to her, God forbid, whether its from covid or not, you will get the blame. Just be careful about this.

one in 20 is not bad odds, but not great odds either. It sucks, and its not our fault that they are putting us through such harsh dilemnas, but just tread carefully.

Man all of this info is amazing. Of you find those Fauci Videos of him contradicting himself it would be complete Deal winner. Normally I would just attack the anti Trump narrative but it gets shut down so fast. Covid is the key but I have to be as a-political as possible.
