It's so true. I took a 2nd job when I was working on my graduate degree. Main job was in the garage, but 2nd job was as a barista at a coffee place where it was almost alll women. Owner was a (surprisingly conservative) guy, shop was in a liberal college town, and only 1 or 2 other guys worked with me, and about 15 girls. I was fortunate enough to 1. have a fiance/girlfriend at the time so I made no stupid decisions with coworkers, and 2. (and likely because of 1) somehow managed to become the guy that was fairly friendly with all the girls (they'd always come to me with their b/s, but it was better than being their target. They're also the ones that convinced me to whimsically propose to my fiancee on our dating anniversary, so... yea it wasn't all bad), but in the end, I had to deal with mental breakdowns like this regularly because I was the lone male there that they trusted. One even crashed at my fiancee and I's house in the guest room on occasion because of drama with her b/f. It was almost definitely all embellished stories about him, and she was a cutter (thankfully never saw her do it), but I felt bad and became friends with her so I guess I felt bad. But man, so many girls like this are just absolutely batshit nuts

And occasionally, we'd kind of be forced to hire a female, and they'd throw mental breakdowns like this regularly, underperform (but we couldn't fire them, because "sexism"), and eventually would just stop showing up to work completely.
