Alex told me that for many years, his father (George Soros) had not been eager to advertise his Judaism because “this was something he was almost killed for.” But he had always “identified firstly as a Jew,” and his philanthropy was ultimately an expression of his Jewish identity, in that he felt a solidarity with other minority groups and also because he recognized that a Jew could only truly be safe in a world in which all minorities were protected. Explaining his father’s motives, he said, “The reason you fight for an open society is because that’s the only society that you can live in, as a Jew"

Soros isn't the only progressive donor out there. Haim Saban actually donated more to Clinton in 2016.

There might be some dissent among the rank and file, but Democratic leadership is still very pro-Israel. Here's Pelosi and Schumer at AIPAC with Saban:

Hahahaha the Obama administration was extremely hostile to Israel. They literally gave Iran billions. Sorry buddy, your narrative is broken. The facts don’t fit it. Let go of your conspiracy theories.

Why didn’t Obama stop the billions in annual American foreign aid to Israel if he hated Israel so much?

Are you really going to make the case that Obama didn’t dislike Israel? It’s not even in dispute. The Obama admin was openly antagonistic and actively pursued Iran, which frequently publicly talks about wiping Israel off of the map. Again, the facts don’t support your position.

You didn’t answer my question

Why did Obama agree to provide Israel with billions of American tax dollars in foreign aid every year of his administration?

Your foreign policy perspective is so Israelicentric that you are positing that not being hostile to an enemy of Israel is the same as being hostile to Israel

But hey I understand big tent politics and as I already pointed out it’s not like Democratic leaders aren’t also in the pocket of the Israel lobby (although I would suppose no one needs to bribe Chuck Schumer to support Israel) so how about you, me, Steve Miller and Bibi get together over some potato pancakes and talk about how much fun it is to build border walls and ban immigrants from East African nations?
