I can honestly say I gave never in my life spoken to a pollster before, either in person or on the phone, which I believe is the main method they use.
You may be wondering, what does that have to do with anything. Well if I've never been polled before than there must be countless others in the same boat.
So when the horse shit fake corrupt media say that Biden is heading for victory, don't believe them.
If you want proof of elections where the polls were complete BS, look at the recent federal election last year in Australia (media said on day of election the Labor party - Democrat equivalent would win but didn't) and that Labor would win in Britian and again didn't.
If even look no further than 2016, remember how they said Clinton was up by 16 points but lost miserably.
The polls are complete bs, the media use them to try to demorolize Trump supporters.
These cunts in the media I believe will get the biggest shock on election night when Trump wins again.
I do not have a land-line. And on my cell, if I do not recognize the number on the caller ID I let it go to voice-mail.
I am sure this practice is implemented by the majority of Americans these days.
Even the survey people at the mall with the clipboards in hand. I give them a wide berth.
I think there is a group of Americans that love to be polled. Have a land-line and get polled by various pollsters but its the same group of people. The kind of people that hang around court houses to watch trials because they have nothing better to do.
2016 proved that polling is dead. 2020 will be another verification of that death announcement
Because the response rate is poor. If they can't get people on the phone, people surely won't return a poll by mail.
Honestly, who would answer the phone these days? At this point if you do not recognize the number you give it a skip. Unless of course you want to talk about 'your credit card' or your 'car warranty which is about to expire'.
The also do mail them out. I trash every single one. I get probably about 20 of them a year. Usually they are polls in that are actually soliciting for money.
Alot of people gotta answer calls from an unknown number due to work. Like me.
Most people have only cell phones nowadays. Many cell numbers are out of state. So the state polls would likely exclude those.
This is me with every call. If I don't know your number, you better leave a message.
I do the same.
"have nothing better to do" LOL - great point.
Strongly agree. Systematic bias with those that choose to participate in polls. Also legacy media.
Changed party affiliation to Democrat in 1993 so I could subvert the system. My phone rings off the hook during election season and I always lie.
How about in the General election ? I love voting for the biggest loser in the Primaries. Voted for Hillary in 08 when operation Chaos was in full swing.
I think you mostly can, just not in the primaries. Subversion amounts to voting for a shitty candidate in the primaries I think.
Due to my state being solidly RED I pulled the lever for Nader twice in the General. Wanted him to see numbers and interest to keep him coming back. Even sent him $50.00 during one of the elections. Folks, you can do more damage inside an organization than on the outside.
Yep. My state has open primaries for nonpartisans. In 2016 I voted on the Republican primary ballot. (I voted for Rubio. What was I thinking!!¡¡) This year I voted on the Democrat ballot to suck a vote from Joe and also support a local friend running for county assessor.
I'm registered unaffiliated in NC, and they let me choose a party for primaries
I don't dare choose a party living in CA for fear of having my house targeted.
Care to elaborate? Seems fair to me, why do we even have parties? Set your priorities and vote for the closest candidate
Counter-point: Illinois, New York, New Jersey require party affiliation.
Comparatively, North Carolina is a lot less fucked.
My phone number used to belong to a young black female before I got it and I get texts constantly for surveys about politics.
what's the point of lying?
Skew the pols, make the Dems think they are doing better than they are.
First time I ever spoke to a political pollster was the morning after the 2016 election.
And I didn't speak. The person on the other end of the phone was shrieking hysterically asking if I supported the results of the election.
I just quietly hung up.
If a pollster were to call me, I'd probably tell them I'm voting for Biden, just to troll them.
"Yeah I'm considering Biden but need to know a few more things about him. Can you hand on a second while I grab a pen and paper?" Then just sit the phone down and walk away until they decide to hang up.
Everybody who gets polled needs to mess with them and tell them they're voting Biden.
Same. I'm 49 and registered at age 18. I have voted both parties all that time up until now. Not one pollster called me.
72, here. And no pollster has ever contacted me, either by phone or mail.
56 and also never been polled.
47, registered at 18. Have never been polled OR called for jury duty.
why?? bad polls can decrease turnout
I did once, but to be honest, I lied through my tooth.
why?
High Biden polls will increase complacency among the libtards and will bring conservatives out to vote. This is what the media did in 2016 with Hillary
I don't see it like that, They try to use it to demoralize on the fence trump supporters
You only have one tooth?
Also polls don't take into consideration caller id. As a general life rule, I do not answer UNKOWN/PRIVATE numbers or numbers and names I don't recognize.
I don’t take unscheduled calls from anyone, let alone an unknown number.
Well when they only ask ~1000 people, that's 0.0003% of the US population. Your odds are preeeetty low.
This also shows that the polls are complete bullshit. I've read from many sources that they're typically drawn from bigger cities too, which already gives you a liberal bias.
I've done a few official polls run by the major pollster through my state.
The question is, why do I get so many? Why are they asking the same pool?
I do too. The reason is they know you'll answer. The same groups of people get sampled over and over again.
Maybe they go with who they know will pick up the phone? They just keep going back to that well.
Seems that way.
I hung up on them all the time before i got rid of my landline. Lately; no, none.
27 year old pede here as well. Got called for a poll for a city I do not and have not ever lived in.
I may have been polled when I was 18. Told them Ron Paul. I haven't been contacted since. Wonder why.
Many people have only cell phones these days and those cell numbers could be out of state.
Reminds me of all the Chinese robocalls I get. Wrong language, wrong country buddy.
I spoke to one yesterday and lied like crazy. I learned a long time ago that they won't talk to you at all if you're a white male. I tell them I'm hispanic and they happily jump into their charade. I like to accuse them of being racist for asking about my skin color.
Yesterday I told them I was going to vote third party on everything. EVERYTHING!
The polls are wrong.
Lefties love to talk about themselves and give their opinion on everything, so maybe they also love to take polls.
Those were always the people you used to avoid after you spotted them. That was unless you were an 18 year old kid hanging around at the mall with nothing better to do with your life.
They called me and when they figured I was voting all republican the lady on the phone said 'I'm having a hard time hearing you, I'm going to have to change your answers' and hung up.
Me. I always decline polls when anyone calls
I would never cooperate with any pollster.
Why would I assist my mortal enemies?
Never. Ever.
They have been calling about once a week, I just say no thanks.
I am 55. I have never spoken to a pollster. Years ago, before cell phones, one contacted me on a landline and I declined to answer any questions.
It's been my observation that leftists LOVE to blab about politics to anyone in earshot, much more than anyone on the right. I'm sure they're eager to tell pollsters that they're "on the right side of history."
I don’t pick up calls from unknown numbers. Never have been polled.
I get them fairly frequently actually. And they’re fairly in depth surveys and questions, usually take 20 minutes or so to answer.
Last time they wanted to know who was responsible for the antisemitism in the country. I made sure to tell them at length it was coming from the left.
My niece works as a pollster, and according to her, they've switched to text message only. This certainly weeds out a large portion of respondents, IMO.
I never answer pollster calls or texts
Because they are FAKE. DUH!
I say let them keep polling liberals and reporting inaccurate polls... just like 2016!
They usually just do a statistically significant sample size, which is small compared to the population so I'm not surprised if most have never been polled. The real issue is the way they sample incorrectly, such as oversampling Democrats to try to wag the dog.
Polls are designed to influence voters. If the media prefers a particular candidate, they will design the polls to give the results that they want to see.
I get polled over SMS and always tell them I’m voting blue. Hopefully it pumps their numbers up and keeps leftists home.
Depending on how you donate and if you put in actual information because you trusted it wouldn't be shared, you may get fucking calls at all hours of the day and night from people from various masked-name organizations asking questions on local and national elections. Usually they are American-sounding. I hang up on them every time, no matter the question.
You can tell (on an iPhone anyway) because the call will come from an area code you recognize (502 Louisville for me), but instead of Louisville, KY it says United States. Never answer one of those calls as it is 100% of the time a telemarketer of some sort. They (in my experience) have never called from a toll free number.
Even the india scammers will mask their number as local. It's a bit infuriating when you're trying to sell something on Kijiji .lol
Did you just out yourself as a Canadian? :)
I'm not ashamed to be Canadian, but I am ashamed to say Canada's reputation is in tatters because of the globalist pedovore satanists are still running the show.
Chinook helicopters pass above, literally
I'm deep.. DEEP behind enemy lines, brother.
But my resolve is just as strong as most others here to see a brighter future.
In '98 I registered as Democrat so I could vote in a mayoral primary. I would occasionally get calls about how I was going to vote. I switched to Republican in 2003. I didn't receive ANY calls from then until a few weeks ago. The funny part is I was telling someone how odd it is that I never receive polling question calls after switching to Republican. I received a call about an hour later.
I lie. Spew some shit because I like fucking with the polls
I finally did on my cellphone. The call disconnected when I said I was conservative.
I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, so maybe I was called, but I never picked up.
Never
I hung up on one the other day. Told them they had the wrong number.
If a person called me and started asking me personal questions I would simply hang up. How do I know they’re legitimately a pollster? How hard is it to spoof a number and claim you’re a pollster to steal people’s info? Fuck that. Let the polls be wrong.
I think I got a text from someone, I answered the first question that I was voting for Trump then that was end of text.
They text me non stop in Colorado, but I never answer.
When I lived in DC in 2008-2009, college kids with mikes often approached me on the street to ask opinion questions, particularly at the large marching events.
outside of that one year I've never been polled. I do get frequent emails and txt messages asking if various candidates can rely on my vote but that is more campaigning than actual polling.
Based on that anecdote alone, I suspect that polls favor population centers and activists, not so much 'regular people.' Obviously that is anecdotal, I didn't try to collect any broad statistic to draw that conclusion.
Not a Pollster but I did get a call for Contact Tracing on COVID-19
I hope you didn’t cooperate.
I was polled back when the birther line for former President Obama was going around. Told them I didn't not believe it one bit, he was definitely born in the USA. To paraphrase the cpnvo that followed.
"Do you plan on voting for Obama?"
"I am as likely to vote for Obama as a horse is likely to want Pentobarbital."
"I'm sorry I don't follow, could you please explain."
"It means I won't vote for someone who wants to euthanize the American Dream."
Haven't been called since, not sure why.
