86 is old cop code for 'throw out/eject'

no. 86'd came from the 1800's for miners that others wanted to get rid of by taking them 8 miles, then burying them 6 feet under. 86 is also long standing las vegas mob term. it meant to drive the "problem" 8 miles out of town, then put them 6 feet under. source - i am a las vegas poker dealer at a major strip property for the last 16 years, and have had many conversations with former vegas wise guys. all the casinos currently still use 86'd as the slogan for kicking a guest off the property. wikipedia was edited after she (whitmer) made this statement. they said it was for a spelling error. LOL
