Im sure when Dialectic thought about their imagined scene of a fucked up TDS afflicted liberal explaining a mental breakdown to a therapist, they never imagined someone would pipe up and go "HEY THAT REMINDS ME OF A DUDE I KNOW THAT SHOVED A LIZARD UP THEIR ASS"

12

Poe's Law: Liberal insanity is indistinguishable from conservative humor making fun of it.

Lizard Corollary: Yes, even shoving a lizard up your ass while raping your cat because 'fuck Trump.'

It's the rule 34 of mental illness.

The upside might be you could slowly red-pill them. In very sinister ways.

9
NealKenneth 9 points ago +9 / -0

Doubtful.

If you actually gave them good advice, you'd probably be sued. The liberal stance on mental issues is currently 100% acceptance, and any questioning at all is bigoted. Give them drugs, give them surgery...but give them advice that might actually help them fix their lives?

Get ready for a lawsuit.

Anyways, iOS dev or UX design are good moves. I would choose UX, for a longer career. But also it's always great to know how to build your own stuff and not be beholden to others.

https://trailhead.salesforce.com/en/content/learn/modules/swift-essentials/start-with-swift

Free to learn. ;)

https://careerfoundry.com/en/blog/ux-design/ux-design-course-online/

Fairly inexpensive options. Coursera stuff can be top, top notch. But the others can be great too.

The "build a portfolio" comment is correct. You should take the in initiative to redesign the front-ends of any doctors' offices, etc. with which/whom you are friendly. Can also do projects on Upwork for free. Working for free is not my favorite idea, but it's a great way in the short term to show what you can do.

Also, and this is crucial, I would apply the Scott Adams approach: you have medical training AND you have UX/iOS training. How many people have those two in their stack? VERY few. That is how you should think about it. Example: how many UX designers know anything about "HIPAA Compliance"? Almost NONE. You could "name your price" if you had UX and HIPAA in your talent stack.

Psychologist: how does that make you feel?

Psychiatrist: take these pills and get a therapist.

1
Jimmy_Russler 1 point ago +1 / -0

Therapists seem to be doing well with Trump in office. Four more years of prosperity to them.

2
3Bepb 2 points ago +2 / -0

Bill Clinton is Therapist.

1
marvinthehaggler 1 point ago +2 / -1

And that's mostly because the Psychiatrist is an MD and can prescribe. If the Psychologist could do same, s/he probably would do same.

2
John_McFly 2 points ago +2 / -0

And then the psychologist would make $240k instead of $40k too.

1
marvinthehaggler 1 point ago +2 / -1

So true.

But also would have the concomitant malpractice insurance policy. And crushing student loan debts. And the winning personality of someone who was a student from age 6 to age 37.

13
babyface 13 points ago +13 / -0

I'm in IT, currently in healthcare.

It kind of amazes me how little medical people know about computers.

I'm in my early 50s. We were some of the first kids to have computers in classrooms when I was in High School.

I just sorta assumed that the successive generations would be more and more computer literate. Especially the highly educated. But now that I'm among the older generation in the workforce, i'm finding that the following generations are as clueless as the generations before me who weren't raised with the technology.

How does one go through 12 years of primary school, 4 years of college and then med school and still come out unable to operate basic office software? Doesn't anyone have to write a term paper or short story anymore at some point in those 20+ years of education? I know they aren't using typewriters (like we had to do)

I work with MDs who are 20 years my junior and I'm amazed some of them can operate an ATM.

Not as well as MD/DO or even PA/NP, even without counting the student loan payoffs.

My part of the country is below average. Entry level techs are in the 30-40 range, app admins maybe 40-60, sys admins in the 50-70. To get much above that you have to be in a niche, in consulting or in management. In my area, that's where the PA/NP salaries start and the MD/DO go up from there.

Probably add 10-20k on top of those for major cities and/or large organizations. I'm in a rural hospital in the middle of nowhere.

Programming is a separate animal. My observation is it's still more merit-based than the rest of IT has become as it has corporatized and been infested with lib drones. It's also location-independent to a certain extent and the salaries are a bit higher if you know what you're doing.

I'm a therapist in a doctoral program (Marriage and Family Therapy), this is absolutely not the case. We have so many Marxist professors obsessed with social justice and almost every student virtue signals on a daily basis. Even at the master's level students are roughly 90% female and often feminists that have sacrificed their own marriage goals and family for a career. The TDS is so dense that in 2016 classes essentially shut down for 2 weeks for students to deal with the mental impact of Hillary losing. Now they're all outspoken Biden supporters or just ignorant about politics in general.

I agree with you that TDS could be a cash cow if it was looked at correctly. Most of them will be dealing with their own countertransference being triggered by their client's TDS. If you are seeking therapy in 2020/2021 make sure your therapist hasn't been brainwashed by postmodernism. There are some conservative therapists out there but they're a rare breed.

33
SanFranShitty 33 points ago +33 / -0

Classes were closed down for two weeks!

And these people are getting trained to “help” others?!? OMFG

16
Barkumo 16 points ago +16 / -0

Keep it mind, it isn't that they were formally cancelled or anything. Instead of having a normal lecture students were given time to "process" how they feel and due dates were pushed back, lessons bumped off the calendar, etc.

I've seen a lot of them practice and being totally honest I can't say they're all bad. They just have zero training on political issues.

15
PRAISETHESUN 15 points ago +15 / -0

I am honestly concerned that a Trump victory in November will lead to mass suicides across the country. Do you think that too or how do you think another Trump victory will affect the liberal mind?

16
Barkumo 16 points ago +16 / -0

I could only speculate. It may spike but I expect it to be small.

These people aren't prepared, not even a little bit. Most of academia is just like this too. I don't know if they will be suicidal but I would expect there to be increased reports of anxiety and depression. The meltdown for Hillary was taken more personal because she was supposed to be a feminist icon. There just isn't any enthusiasm for Biden so it is more anti-Trump than anything else. I think most of them will cry on twitter for a couple weeks and move on. They know they already survived 4 years of Trump and they've already forgotten about things like the wall. Academics are too buried in books to stay on top of this stuff, most of them are several weeks behind the media narrative.

16
No_Malarkey_Joe 16 points ago +16 / -0

What a sad statement on our society that a manufactured swamp queen from a political dynasty was seen as feminist icon.

8
PRAISETHESUN 8 points ago +8 / -0

These people aren‘t prepared, not even a littler bit.

Please keep in mind that they are misguided and not necessarily evil. They don't know what they've traded. It is easy to fall prey to the promise that you can "have it all" especially when you are in your early 20's and feel like time isn't an obstacle.

The women we're talking about here are incredibly intelligent, they lack wisdom but they are sharp. Women with gifted or genius levels of intellect are often terrified about letting a statistically dumber mate control their future while they cook dinner and change diapers. I respect them for wanting to control their own destiny but some of them delay love for so many years that they don't realize when things are too late.

If the message was marriage and babies first, then career, I think these women might be happier. Every American deserves the freedom to choose how their life will go but I just wish some of them weren't lied to about the consequences of waiting so long to get married.

5
spaceforce_chaplain 5 points ago +6 / -1

My advice would be start with a chaplain. It is easier to find conservative chaplains. Chaplains are trained in talk therapy and can handle simple cases. If your case is too advanced for the chaplain, they will refer you to a therapist. If you ask a conservative chaplain to be refer you to a conservative therapist, I am sure your request would be honored.

I agree, which is why there are no panic attacks At FL400. I am a pilot myself and just about every pilot I know is scared of heights. Most refuse to stand of the edge of a building or cliff. I have tested it.

76
gaijin_ronin 76 points ago +76 / -0

One made from the most succulently prepared meat alternative, shaped into a burger patty, seared to perfection on a $3.5k Evo grill (only used twice a year), topped with unwashed organic vegetables, sharp cheddar-esque cashew cheese and a gluten free sesame seed bun.

47
CousinEddie 47 points ago +49 / -2

What's with liberals and overdoing bad flavor. They've always got the craziest sharp cheeses and insanely hoppy beer.

There is elegance in having certain hints and flavor profiles. Just become something tastes good mildly doesn't mean it needs to be honed into weapons grade flavor.

31
gaijin_ronin 31 points ago +32 / -1

Tell me about it. If I hear one more fucking hipster rave about a triple infinity squared pucker IPA. Give me a beer that won't make my face implode and let the ingredients work together. I try and keep shit simple. I enjoy cooking too much to ruin what I make with crap of the moment ingredients.

But if you are in SoCal it's either 805, an IPA or bud

CousinEddie 15 points ago +16 / -1

Penzeys spices is a great example. First of all, the brother in the company had full blown TDS and started tanking the brand so the sister had to start a spin-off that wasn't insulting it's customers.

They sell $18 jars of spices so insanely potent they cut through everything. If you put their spices in a dish that's all you're going to taste.

High potency isnt equal to "good". If you're not sure, have a bowl of cereal with heavy cream instead of milk.

12
TehAgent 12 points ago +12 / -0

2
slashp 2 points ago +2 / -0

Damn I really want one of those Evo grills..

2
gaijin_ronin 2 points ago +2 / -0

Diy. It's not really hard. Just time and gas grill parts. Source the round metal top from a local metal shop and weld the ring edge. However the easiest way is use a cheap gas grill and make a metal cook surface for it instead of a grid This would be more simar to a Blackstone but still a griddle top. I'm making one as I have a old grill sitting sitting around. I'm also making a smoker out of a filing cabinet.

13
Continue 13 points ago +13 / -0

Yeah, that was my first thought - "So... you mean a burger."

But maybe they decorated it with a little American flag toothpick or something? That's about the only thing that would make it sort of make sense.

Americana still sounds like such a pretentious word though, I'd much rather add a couple letters and say America-themed or just describe the actual decoration.

That UBI bs is something I can't jump on, even being a peasant. Giving people free stuff doesn't work, it makes them lazy. Government assistance can be very helpful when not abused, but people will get food stamps and sell them for a fraction so they can go buy weed. Some of these lefty policies can sound nice on paper but they never include the part that humanity sucks. There will never be a utopia in this lifetime, not while humans still exist.

-1
Spirit_of_Resistance -1 points ago +2 / -3

If we were a homogenous white country I could see UBI being very beneficial as well as also affordable if it's not forced to prop up minorities who are never tax positive.

Same with Healthcare, I'd love to have the government take care of every citizen but because we are not a nation of Whites as the founders intended we are not able to financially look after our own people

A History of Central Banking and the Enslavement of Mankind

Good book, banned on Amazon

FearDaNazgulz 3 points ago +3 / -0

That's stupid. Skin color determines nothing, if the founding fathers did mean for that then they were wrong. We have history for a reason, to learn from it and not repeat its faults. Ideologies and worldviews are what determine people's actions. People will divide over the tiniest things, so our issues is not forcing people to become American and conformity to the countries values, as every country should do. A country based on homogeneous American values, sure; homogeneous based on race is stupid

Spirit_of_Resistance 0 points ago +2 / -2

if the founding fathers did mean for that then they were wrong.

The Founding Father's did mean for that, and they weren't wrong. Look at what being a diverse society has gotten us today. Many of the Founding Father's wanted blacks to be free but knew (unlike you) that we would not be able to have a peaceful harmonious society without racially homogeneous population.

To claim they're wrong because it offends your modern sensibilities regarding race is exactly why we are where we are as a country, and pretty soon the cuckservatives are going to be swept to the side

1
FearDaNazgulz 1 point ago +1 / -0

It doesn't offend my "modern sensibilities regarding race" it violates Biblical values. If you even remotely consider your self Christian you should read your Bible and find where it says to separate by race or class. Give you a hint; it doesn't. Just because something is hard, doesn't mean you shouldn't do it.

-1
Spirit_of_Resistance -1 points ago +1 / -2

Ah you're right, the Founding Father's weren't Christians

Lol see the strawman you have to create to cater to your blacks?

Bonus Salt: the thread I pulled this from https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/jdqrn7/stephen_colbert_returns_to_showtime_for_live/

A ton of comment chains about people remembering where they were during the last election. So many cuck tears. Enjoy!

They actually think they’re going to win in a landslide

TehAgent 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah from what I’ve seen the ones that actually make policy along with a decent portion of the leftist voters are preparing to lose. I think the salt thread is just for wishful thinking/blind enthusiasm. If they really thought they were going to win for sure they wouldn’t be threatening us with lockdowns and violence still.

6
LadyOfLorien 6 points ago +6 / -0

Lol. I like the people talking about how "nothing will be decided on election night unless Biden wins from a landslide of in-person voting."

Of course, nothing will be decided if Trump wins in a landslide...

Can you make those burgers again this year? They were so delicious!

Milkshakes were way too salty tho!

So there I was at my hacienda, we had made Mexican tacos and drank modelos. When we saw the convey of obese guatamalen piglets turned back, my abuela sobbed so hard her flan collapsed

I'm doing the same thing I did last time. I'm going to the bar to people watch and bask in schadenfreude.

Therapist: Point to where Trump hurt you on this doll....

6
AndyCuomoIsAMobster 6 points ago +6 / -0

My therapist is a Democrat and he found out I'm a Trump supporter when he asked if the current political climate is giving me anxious feelings and I laughed and said "no" confidentially. He sort of nodded, and looked like he put the pieces together to figure out my political leanings. He's a great therapist and friend now, so I don't hold his political leanings against him, but the question opened my eyes to how overly fearful people are over stupid political things that are out of their control, and how much therapists must be dealing with this irrationality.

It's going to be hard to beat the gloriousness of 2016. It was so unexpected and the left were so sure Hillary was in.

But it'll be nice to see the left meltdown next month too. I hope they like their milkshakes extra salty.

3
barwhack 3 points ago +3 / -0

The problem was the AMERICANA burgers. It should have made GUIVERA burgers, topped by ham salted with the tears of a thousand thousand social failures, of old. That would have adequately fortified its system to be the next donor...

3
Donker 3 points ago +3 / -0

lol

It's funny, when I first started seeing comments like this I'd share so we could laugh at the insanity of it all... but now I've seen probably thousands of them, and it's just become so normalized.

Now, I just accept that there is a VERY large demographic out there that's full of crazy people

3
Nadlers_Belt 3 points ago +3 / -0

I’ve never, ever heard an American use the term “americana burgers”.

3
desync_ 3 points ago +3 / -0

I remember crying into my soy milk. My mom had made chicken tendies to celebrate Election Day and the joy fizzled out watching my favourite Tumblr posters explain how the Nazis were coming for my black neighbours. I stopped making cheese and I started taking prescribed anti-depressants again.

3
LilPatriot 3 points ago +3 / -0

I remember crying into my milkshake. We had made Americana burgers and shakes to celebrate Election Day and the joy fizzled out watching the numbers roll in. I couldn't sleep in the months afterward and I started therapy back up.

XD Imagine having this as a shortcut in Team Fortress 2, this is fucking funny.

Maybe this person is a cheese maker?
