China was hit by the virus earlier and thus their economic hit came earlier. China had a big hit in Q1 where their GDP was negative for the first time in decades.
And there will be much long term fallout for China as global companies diversify supply chains out of China (see Apple), and countries seek to extract punitive damages (see Huawei, Tick-Tok and others).
I still think China will be a big loser from covid in the long run.
