Even when I was a young teen, thinking of which TV girls I'd bang, she never occurred to me. Because I was just completely put off by everything she did. She got physically attractive around the movies/Voyager cameos, but her personality on the show just ruined all of it. I have NO shock that her real persona is an insufferable, ignorant leftist, since she played the part SO WELL.
Also? Her mother Lwaxana Troi? Most hated character in anything ever, UNTIL DS9, wherein she becomes my favorite minor character because the writers made her actually sympathetic, without removing the generally unlikeable outer shell, which she explains to Odo at one point that she does on purpose, basically to be the Alpha Bitch on the Planet of the Bitches.

And I thought it very clever that they got Marina Sirtis to be the voice of the computer in the fan-continuation of the original series, "Star Trek Continues," which is SUPER high quality, and if you haven't seen it, give it a look. A truly worthy continuation to the original series. Also, Lou Ferrigno as an Orion (the green race) slave owner.

Lwaxana Troi played by Majel Barrett was Nurse Chapel in the original series, as well as the voice of the computer.
