Then cast my first vote (for Goldwater !!) in 1964 after walking neighborhoods in Santa Monica registering Republicans (you could discriminate back then!!)

My dad took me to a Goldwater rally in So Cal in '64. I remember little of the rally, but do remember my parent's disappointment at the election.
