Then cast my first vote (for Goldwater !!) in 1964 after walking neighborhoods in Santa Monica registering Republicans (you could discriminate back then!!)
I had one that my dad gave me. I was born under Ike, so technically, I could have worn it.

My dad took me to a Goldwater rally in So Cal in '64. I remember little of the rally, but do remember my parent's disappointment at the election.
I went to 2 rallies in jam packed Dodger Stadium in summer of '64. Precursor of MAGA rallies.
