I never understood why the lying and covering up the truth on Wikipedia matters or makes a difference. Like really? What the hell is Wikipedia going to do? Stop a Trump Train?
Could it be possible that Hunter Biden is his own whistle blower? How can three laptops need data recovery at the same time? While having the most damning shit in the world on them, walled off between what type of data is on each drive, then be left there on an $85 bill? If this was one messy hard drive with all the crazy data on it, this story would make more sense.
Supposedly he brought in three devices with water damage to have the computer guy check, one was beyond repair, one needed a new hard drive (the laptop) and one the computer guy was able to fix instantly. It's not that implausible that when he travels he has a phone, a laptop and a tablet or something in his bag, and he dropped it in the bathtub or whatever. The only thing he left at the store was the laptop. Maybe later he got a new laptop and decided not to bother to go back and get it, who knows.
Hunter had a lot of other shit going on in his life like strippers suing him for child support and going to rehab. I can see how picking up his broken computer and paying his repair bill isn't a big priority to him especially if he bought a new one and restored his stuff to it. He probably just forgot all about it or thought screw it, I don't need that computer anymore.

He's not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
He probably assumed, computer broken means data gone too.
