He's got my support for sure, as a Californian. But I don't think he's trying to win the State, not in particular anyway. A recent post on one of my local social media sites stated that she is going to vote for Biden, because he cares about kids, unlike Trump. Several people responded favorably to that. I resisted the urge to respond with something like ......"yeah, Biden definitely does care about kids.... especially when he can fondle and sniff them".

Long game. People get fired up, vote, vote straight Red on the ballot, and cause a ripple that makes their local governments more conservative. If he keeps doing this for another four years, or even later (I don't see him suddenly shutting up after his time in office, especially since Obama set the new precedent of ex-presidents continuing to speak and judge and campaign!) we can turn California conservative again. Maybe not in the next two weeks, but in enough time...
For work, we've been traveling around California and Arizona. Basically, anywhere 20-30 miles outside of a major lefty city is Trump country. In Yuma Arizona there's a massive Trump 2020 banner on the main road with a tiny Biden/Harris yard sign next to it. It's great. Also saw many people driving around with Trump banners on their cars.
Unfortunately, you can't do that in LA without the risk of some crazy lefty trying to attack you or ram into your car.
Sorry, you're over thinking it. Orange County went blue in 2016 for the first time in awhile. The money does not hurt Trump's campaign. It is good optics to say "hey, all of CA is not blue, you jerks!"

I would agree with you. I live in the Central Valley and there are a lot more Trump signs than Biden signs in my neighborhood. The enthusiasm that I’ve seen is unreal. In my small town of about 13,000 people, there was a small line of about 30-40 cars driving down Main Street with Trump flags waving from their cars. That’s unheard of in my town, even tho we are mostly conservative. In a larger town this past weekend there was a truck rally for Trump. There were probably close to 500 trucks in the parking lot, all supporting Trump with flags. I really think Ca has a large silent majority. Hopefully it’s enough to make a difference.

I've been saying for weeks that I think Trump has a chance in California. There have been SO many parades, flag wavings, gatherings, etc. for Trump this year that I NEVER saw in 2016. I'm in some Conservative Jewish groups and they've been sharing these nonstop, it's really amazing to see. I think these lockdowns have finally woken up the conservatives in California that they need to fight for Trump and not sit back and allow the libs to take away their rights.
I don't know if Trump can win the state, (I mean it is Commiefornia), but if it's close it'll still be a win for Trump. Every vote counts, and we need the popular vote so those commies don't have any legs to stand on

The problem is that a significant population lives in la and sf where they welcome shit on the streets and needles in the gutters. Some even see it as virtuous.
