Rest of the state hates Chicago, check the county-level results and you'll see what I mean... and most of the other "solid blue" states are more or less the same scenario. This is the city-state evolution that precedes the collapse of most major civilizations of the west, and as someone that lives on the border of one of these states, businesses are hopping the border like I've never seen before.

Just moved out of Chicago.

When lockdown started, I began driving 30 minutes to Indiana, 5 days a week, to go workout at a gym. Because Illinois/Chicago decided it was in my best interest to stay home and get weak.

Soon I'll be leaving the state all together.

Said it before, I'll say it again, there should be some sort of population provision where no state may let a single city, or even a pair of cities, determine the entire electoral vote for that state. New York State has 19 million people, and 8.3 million of them live in New York City. Same kind of story with LA and San Francisco in California, and Chicago in this thread's example. Basically, a handful of cities get together every four years and decree "This is how we will rule over All of America!" and if the ENTIRE rest of the nation does not unite against them, they get their way.

I know, Electoral College, State's Rights to Distribute their Electors as they see fit, etc. etc. etc. But we already have precedent where the States do NOT get to undermine the Union Itself with their laws, and that's what is happening here, frankly.

Isolated_Patriot 11 points ago +11 / -0

In some ways the electoral college was there to convince the states to sign on, it would have been a nice little provision that they would have to adopt a similar voting style, say, 50 years down the road?

Ghost_Soul167 8 points ago +8 / -0

Personally I think the electoral votes of a state should be distributed by proportion of counties won. This would require the Democrats to drastically moderate their positions, while allowing the Right to become slightly more governmentally conservative.

ReignOfTyphon 6 points ago +6 / -0

Expand the electoral college to the state elections, revise gerrymandering rules to involve input from a commission of county executives and sheriffs, require a rule for rotating the state capital every 6-8 years between county seats and independent cities to decentralize state power and state lobbying firms, and repeal the 17th Amendment to decentralize news and regional lobbying firms. Local politics is where we started and local politics is where we need to return.

We had one. Its called the Constitution. To check other states from undermining the Union, a state had the right to leave. It was a voluntary union. If California and New York want to run the nation, the other states could leave and still can today. It would not surprise me if states leave the union in our lifetime

if that actually happened you could just block off the highways and have michiganders set up a blockade on lake michigan. take back the city after the food runs out.

If the "Fair Tax" passes, it's going to be a taxation hell.

Flipping this state red is the most important goal MAGA needs to achieve to cut the head off the writhing Marxist snake.

Saul Alinsky started his ideological war here, using the pedophile honeypot method to corrupt the Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago.

The global catholic conspiracy this spurred on was a springboard off the existing secret Nazi resettlement program following the conclusion of WWII, and it would lead to the human and child trafficking epidemic we see today.

The Democrats in Chicago took over the role of de facto crime family following the power vacuum left behind when La Cosa Nostra was reigned in.

Good luck, the Democrats have a firm hold on this state. Also there are no real Republicans to run against them.

brimaj 26 points ago +26 / -0

It’s true- I live in Chicago, rest of the state voted red besides cook county. I hope one day we get our act together!

16
Toohershat 16 points ago +16 / -0

It's impossible to rely on the Chicago vote counts. Dems have held power for 75+ years, and they can decide how to work the voters rolls. Just look at how Mayor Daley Sr manipulated the votes on election night in November 1960 to give Kennedy the state. Nothing has changed since the only people in power are those in the Dem Chicago Machine.

The city is in a spot to suck money and life out of the rest of the state, and that will have to change before anything else can really improve.

Some lefties in Champaign too, the Uni there draws a lot of them. And a little blue outside STL too.

The occasional sighting of a retard also happens in Springfield.

Dems have been filling up the suburbs and surrounding areas for years, too. They elect Rino's until they get enough power to go all Democrat. I'm hoping that Trump and his accomplishments will open enough eyes to turn this place back into the Land of Lincoln.

That is where Barry lives.

Jussie too?

Nah, Kiddie was just here to film. If he lived here, he'd know that nobody would believe that shit.

Illinois should be wearing its mask....its the LAW there.

9
Chuj 9 points ago +9 / -0

proof that Chicago corrupt voting controls the whole state

9
ChicagoMAGA 9 points ago +9 / -0

My family and I (minus my sister) all voted for Trump. I wouldn't be surprised if the collar counties go red this year. But yeah, we get too many loonies from the surrounding states that push us blue, as well as lots of elitist whites in the bourgeois suburbs, the black and Latino voters in the ghettos who are against gentrification, union voters, and corrupt machine politics. The based people in the suburbs tend to be small business owners. It really sucks that is what is otherwise a world class city is ruined by the Democrats.

operator1214 8 points ago +8 / -0

Welcome to the Socialist State of LoL...we're controlled by Chicago, so none of us can have fun.

It has given us opportunity to understand how the world works though. Hint: it's all a grift, a ponzi, a scam, a racket.

8
Chickenbaconpoutine 8 points ago +8 / -0

IL is only blue in Chicago, around Champaign, and down outside STL.

Everywhere else is Trump land.

7
BigDaddyT 7 points ago +7 / -0

The iowa Pepe needs orchard grass hanging out of his mouth lmao.

7
Pedeberrycrunch 7 points ago +7 / -0

I have long held that Illinois should secede from Chicago.

8
Chickenbaconpoutine 8 points ago +8 / -0

Bulldoze the city into the lake.

5
Bubbahax 5 points ago +5 / -0

If every state had an equivalent of the electoral college, where each county had an equal say in the vote, then Dems would never win national office again.

Genius! KEK’d and checked!

Indiana pede. They have been sending section 8 residents to us for years and it has had terrible impact on northern indiana. Crime rate is constantly increasing and idiots like buttigeig are getting voted in. South bend is becoming an absolute shithole.

Currently living in the Banana Republic of Illinois...just found out it is "highly likely" we'll be going back to Phase 3 of Corona restrictions Thursday. Governor to speak at 2PM CST. If anyone knows of any Sales jobs for an enterprising young conservative looking to leave Illinois shoot me a DM!

AspirationalRecluse 3 points ago +3 / -0

If not for Cook and St. Clair counties.... this would be a red state. But their populations greatly outnumber the rest of us poor saps that haven't left yet.

Fuck man... why you gotta remind me.

Just a friendly reminder that it's because of a flyover state (Wright Bros, Dayton, OH) that you are able to fly over. 😉

This makes me sad.

And no SBRs unless you wade through paperwork, and no suppressors either.

Ruth's dying wish was for me to own a MP5SD.
