Pretty much anywhere in the country you can find someone selling them and most will even deliver them.

This search took under two minutes:

https://www.conexwest.com/sacramento-shipping-containers-sale

http://midstatecontainers.com/stockton-shipping-storage-containers

https://www.usedstoragecontainersusa.com/Sacramento-CA-used-storage-containers.php

https://www.azteccontainer.com/

These are all dealers that serve the San Joaquin Valley, there's lots more.

They’re not cheap. But I bet he can find good Farm use for them afterwards.

It's California. He can even market them to eco freaks as a recycled residence:

It's a really poor choice, but some people will do it just for the eco snobbery.

A farm can always find a use for a storage container.

Yeah, they do around here, too. Just riffing off the California connection. I thought about buying a 24 footer for an all weather repair garage. Not happening, wife doesn't want to look at a storage container. Saving up for a prefab now.
