I had a situation with my GF a few weeks ago that was similar, but ended better. She found out I was voting for Trump—which I never hid. That had her crying and thinking and what not. Then we had a talk about how we might not have shared values. She said she didn’t want to have kids that called the other kids ‘illegal’. I just laughed and explained TDS to her and things went a lot better. She still doesn’t like Trump, but is more aware that Trump’s probably going to win and more aware of why. So I don't know if it's the leftist beliefs that made him so inflexible and kind of hateful or if it's some other component of his character that was always there.
You know how we're always noticing that MAGA people tend to have a bright, happy demeanor, good posture, etc? I'd say look for someone that takes responsibility for their own happiness, as well as having matched religious and political/civic beliefs. If their political beliefs change they won't need you to change with them to make them happy.

Last year I dated a girl that was doing her Master's in Cultural Diversity or some similar BS named degree.

Things were going fine, I thought it was working well enough but was keeping tabs on some red flags which I had to decide if they were big enough to warrant ending the relationship. We didn't have vastly different views but they were different enough in very key areas for me and I didn't like that at all. So I put off doing it for 6 months, until I finally came around to doing it and just committed to it without looking back and let me tell you, I really should've done it 6 months earlier or even more. I am so much better off now and see things so much more clearly. Trust me, it may seem like a big thing to do, and it is, but you'll be so glad you did it once it's done because otherwise you'll never do it and it just gets worse. Happy to talk or answer any questions if you want to ask me any! You can do it fellow pede, just keep telling yourself it's the right decision and act upon that and work on moving forward.

I built myself up to doing it and thought I'd keep my cool but just burst into tears as soon as I approached her about it. 3 days later, it was like I was never in the relationship at all. When it's the right decision, it's the best thing in the world. Only you will know that, but if it was anything like my situation, which it sounds like it is in a way, then you're going to be sooooo much better off for it. Don't worry about how tough it will be. We sprang into action with extinguishers and I even took the time to explain how it started and what was probably damaged, then told him I was a partial owner of the company and he had permission to park it in a spot until he could get it towed. Didnt really register in the moment that it was a black dude; someone was in trouble and needed help and was also clearly worried about transportation.
