Calling an unborn baby a parasite is not a good look.
Abortion was never a big political issue for me until they started pushing it to be legal later and later to the point of after birth abortions (straight up baby murder). Then they get rhetorically uglier and uglier (bragging about their high score or signs like this). They woke me up to the issue.
I think there are millions of people like you that became anti abortion more from listening to what people who support abortion say more than what pro lifers say. You realize how fucked up their arguments are and you dont want to associate yourself with that and get off the ride. The more they talk, the more depraved their get. When a woman is upset because she lost her unborn baby during the pregnancy, are you really thinking, why are you crying for ridding your body of a parasite?
I'm one. For decades I considered myself pro-choice, but didn't care much about it. I was generally fine with it in the 1st trimester. My position was not really an honest one, but I never had to think much about it. Governor Coonman forced me to think about it. Bottom line, if the only options are abortions until (or even after) birth or no abortions at all, then consider me pro-life and that's how I'm voting. It is now an issue that I care about and vote on.
Politically I'm kinda libertarian-lite. So in years past I could mentally find abortion a bad thing but put more emphasis on the woman's rights. At least when it comes to legislation (the State forcing women to carry a pregnancy). "It's her body. She has the right to her own body. We don't have the authority to force her to carry the fetus to term." etc...
I was quite comfortable with that in the first trimester. But at some point, that fetus is a child. Children are persons. They also have rights.
"At some point" is I think where the discussion should be. But the Left is nuts, so there is no discussion. You cannot talk to the Left. And I will not be lectured to by people who think late-term abortion is ok. It's absurd. So they have forced my position. On the other side there are some who argue for the rights of the fertilized egg, and I honestly don't care, but that argument is more honest than Gov Coonman's position, so...
And the way it's done. Could it be any more barbaric?
And the harvesting of organs. And the profiting off of that and the push to do it as late as possible...
I'm done. Forever. I've thought it thru, heard every facet of the arguments from both sides. They forced it. They lost me. I'm never going back, and I'm voting on it.
It illustrates the Overton Window perfectly. Roe v Wade suggested that abortion was abhorrent but necessary. As a critical mass of supporters mushroomed, it become not only tolerated but celebrated. Get enough people corrupt, and you can claim anything is a virtue.
I can put up with women blindly supporting abortion. But when they call their own child a parasite that is unconscionable. That shows the contempt they have for life. It's downright evil.
Also now that I think about it, if a fetus is a parasite are they then agreeing that it is in fact ALIVE? 🤔

Fetus is literally not a parasite. Parasite is a different species. This is just flippant word salad. Ask any medical doctor that doesnt work at PP if they've ever referred to an unborn baby as a literal parasite. Cite one medical textbook or academic journal that says a fetus is a parasite.
