Illinois is collapsing and it’s sad. I love it here. It’s home, but the tax amendment that is being lied about to allow the governor to raise taxes whenever for whoever for however much is sickening. We can flip this state. I see so many trump flags and signs and bumper stickers. The part that sucks is Chicago. But we can do it!! Go Trump!

Annex Mexico first. Strategically and economically it would be a massive win.

Mexico has vast natural resources that are worthless to their corrupt government.

SideofB33f 11 points ago +11 / -0

We conquered Mexico in 1835 or so. We actually kept all the land that didn’t have too many Mexicans in it (like 2/3s of it. Modern day Rockies and westward) and gave back that which did.

The amount of money to econoform their entire society would be astronomical.

3
FireannDireach 3 points ago +3 / -0

The grinding poverty and collapsed infrastructure and institutionalized corruption across the board would make that problematic, it could bankrupt us easily.

We'd also be making cartels and their members US citizens. Yeah, no problem there, right?

Good intentions, been discussed a million times, but it's not really realistic.

This isn’t the best idea, however we should be treating them on par with the way we treat Middle Eastern countries who have/are killing US citizens. ie: take out the cartels by force.

From what I heard the Trudeau family is basically the Bidens up north.

4
booblitchutz 4 points ago +4 / -0

Canada is a functioning government, basically. Mexico is FAR a better option.

idk, some crazy alleged leaks have been getting around in Canada

https://thecanadianreport.ca/is-this-leaked-memo-really-trudeaus-covid-plan-for-2021-you-decide/

alleging that Canadian governemnt plans for force 2 more lockdowns using flu season as cover, force economic hardship on population to the point where they can sell UBI conditional on the person becoming entirely dependent on the government.

. This is how it works: the federal government will offer to eliminate all personal debts (mortgages, loans, credit cards, etc) which all funding will be provided to Canada by the IMF under what will become known as the World Debt Reset program. In exchange for acceptance of this total debt forgiveness the individual would forfeit ownership of any and all property and assets forever. The individual would also have to agree to partake in the COVID-19 and COVID-21 vaccination schedule, which would provide the individual with unrestricted travel and unrestricted living even under a full lock down (through the use of photo identification referred to as Canada’s HealthPass)

I don't want to believe this, but I got to ask myself - would Trudeau and his cabinet jump at the chance to basically sell most of Canadians into chattel slavery to IMF...? I think they would.

Mexico is FAR a better option

The truth is, Mexico isn't a bad option for folks who want to retire on a low fixed income. I figure when all the shit bags storm across the border into the US courtesy of the open border retards, Mexico might be okay

Canada = 51st state, Eh? 🍁

Absolutely not.

BigDick_Don45 11 points ago +11 / -0

I know this is a joke, but if a vote was held today to join the USA, I think you would be surprised at the outcome. It's the better of two options available to Canadians today.

That's why it's essential that Blue States don't get bailouts.

It'll be rewarding them for reckless spending & policies that cause people to leave in the first place.

9
freedomFrites 9 points ago +9 / -0

reckless spending policy was buying democrat votes.

I want to know why these Senators don't get expelled from US govt. for theft of public funds and/or incompetency, conflict of interest, racism, minority racism against white people, etc. and can't be fired from their positions? That's how it would happen in the real world.

Illinois is most certainly not. Chicago is too corrupt and too cucked that it ruins the rest of the state

7
PritzkersFatAss76 7 points ago +7 / -0

I'm in Lake County (north of Chicago), and it's pretty cucked here also. Tons of biteme signs, and of course is the home of Joe Walsh.

7
Hlodvig915 7 points ago +7 / -0

And now Illinois has a tax hike amendment ("fair tax") on the ballot, which will surely chase away whatever remaining businesses are here.

4
PapaPepe 4 points ago +4 / -0

It will give most people lower taxes for a year or 2 until the business flees and then everyones taxes are higher than they were before. Like all of things with a deceptively simple name it will pass and the state will be screwed. I really need to get out

2
Bullet_Tooth_Tony 2 points ago +2 / -0

I am here with you, pede. My job and career path are currently here at a major hospital system. It sucks being torn between a job you truly enjoy and yet having to remember you live in this communist state every day.

Just keep reminding yourself it is not permanent. For me this is just short term until the wife and I hightail it out when my next job opportunity opens up.
