It's like every state seems to be run by some corrupt crime family (or incestuous network of them).

I'm starting to think that our politics are a lot more medieval than most people realize.

have people changed in 500 years? Not really. Same set of emotions, behaviors etc. Even the stories in the Bible describe human behaviors we recognize today. Love, hate, rivalry, envy etc. People are people.
